Whilst the majority of us are over the moon to see Nigel back at the Pirelli we now have to face reality and the matter of a tough top of the table game away at Gillingham. I really wish I could go(even if it is an open away end where you are likely to get soaked) but work commitments won't allow I'm afraid. What are we to expect fellow Brewers ?

Yes indeed tm a tough 1st game for any manager. And with them being 3 points behind us it may well be worth getting the boys down there on Friday evening so they don't have to spend 4 hours on a bus before the match. We have them on overall on form in our last 6 games with 5W 0D 1L and +8GD In their last 6 they are 2-2-2 and 0GD But their home record is excellent, unbeaten this season In their 10 home games they are 8W 2D 0L with +17GD Our away form is 6W 0D 4L with -2GD It ain't gonna be easy, and current forecast is calling for rain. I would settle for a point!

Huge home form for Gillingham.
A win at Gillingham would be great given the above. A draw would be good A loss would be indifferent as I am expecting that again, given the above.
New manager bounce could help us - but then how do you bounce when you're already sky high...!

Can't remember us ever getting a point at Gillingham so one this time would be a bonus. They havn't lost at home yet so why not this Saturday. Having said that I am expecting a loss but hope Nigel's presence in the dugout inspires the lads.

You just can't predict this one. I'm not convinced our current team play or even set up the Nigel Clough way. Interesting to see what happens.

Im hoping to be there. Trying to convince my Dad that we should be there to welcome back Nigel and also to see the top of the table clash. Do we have any injury updates? Zeli can't be too far away now.

Although i would obviously love the 3 points, not just to stay on top but for Nigel too i can't see us getting much from this.

'I spoke to Jimmy last night and we spoke about the squad. He said they can still improve.'
Fair play that Jimmy is still in touch with the club to help get us ready for the game...

I wouldn't agree with Jimmy on that one. Time and time again we sneak a one nil. I see a team punching above their weight but through sheer commitment and a touch of luck grind out results. Rigid back four, deep censored.word midfield and everybody getting behind the ball ain't the Clough way. Oh for the days of Clare, Gilroy etc...................We'll see !

The word l y i n g has been put on a naughty list and automatically censors out, it is a long story...

I don't think there is a strong argument against the way Jimmy had us playing, and as NC has said he doesn't see the need, and has no plans, to change that right now. With the 4-2-3-1 setup under Jimmy: when we lost possession everyone was a defender but not necessarily behind the ball, there was always one or two in the 25-30 yard area. When we regained possession we then had 5 attackers and one of the fullbacks helping in that area. The area for improvement was always cited as being hitting the target and taking their chances. But we are moving in the right direction with a +8GD in the last 6 games. edit: I'm surprised WTF isn't on the censored word list?

I agree. The main problem (except the last two games), has been the inability to hit the target and at least work the goalkeeper. Too many shots from good positions have been just wide or too high. I have to say Duffy has been the main culprit, although the rest of his game has been pretty good. Surely that is the main problem when JFH says we can improve.

Just read the Gillingham forums,
One nonce comments that our players were 'diving and cheating' against Millwall,
Hahahahahaha - Are they stupid?
It was like a bloody rugby game!

If anybody objectively watched our game with Millwall and for one minute thought that we were diving and cheating then I'd suggest they either get themselves to an opticians or stop thinking for themselves because, quite frankly, it sounds like they may do themselves some damage. I'm guessing it's an objective opinion otherwise it's a Millwall supporter posting on a Gillingham message board about Burton Albion and I'd be surprised if anyone is that desperate for something to do.

It was a Gillingham fans Millwall supporting mate who had told him that's how we play. Rose tinted glasses for sure.
