I wouldn't agree with Jimmy on that one. Time and time again we sneak a one nil. I see a team punching above their weight but through sheer commitment and a touch of luck grind out results. Rigid back four, deep censored.word midfield and everybody getting behind the ball ain't the Clough way. Oh for the days of Clare, Gilroy etc...................We'll see ! I would agree with him. Kaizen is a good principle to follow.

'I spoke to Jimmy last night and we spoke about the squad. He said they can still improve.'

I agree we have been punching above our weight a bit
Would take a draw here given the chance now

How many are going do you think?, Its the first match down south for me, really looking foward to it, but not the uncovered stand, good news though, weather is going to be good and dry I hope we bring a good size crowd.

There is only one coach going according to the Mail. So I reckon only about 100 from Burton at a guess. I'm going for the first time, although I had told myself I would never go to an uncovered ground again. I'm just hoping we can put on a good performance and come away with something.

Clough's first game (again) and one of our nearest grounds, we'll be there even to sit on scaffolding. At least the King George V near Chatham Dockyards makes it worthwhile.

More nervous about this one than any really.
Big game for the Brewers but in particular for Nigel, his first of course, so wants a good start.
A draw would be handy, just don't want a defeat for his first game back.
COYB!

Well there's a thing, according to the Burton Mail, Nigel won't be going to the match. Seems a bit odd.

according to radio Derby the reason is " contractual matters" which Nigel has to sort out. Gary Crosby to be in charge. is this something we should be worried about. is it something to do with his previous contract with Sheffield United?

I guess that, if as has been said on the forum before,Nigel always employs the others then it could be that only he is contractually tied up. Although if Blades are the problem it would seem a bit odd to complain about their 'management' earlier in the week. Or perhaps he's opening a supermarket or doing a paper round.
EDIT Now I see the BBC website is reporting longstanding media commitments - still seems odd.

Nigel has an engagement on Bein Sports in Doha with Richard Keys, that is the pre-arranged engagement he is contractually obligated to.

Maybe Whitlow should have taken the training this week and gone to Gillingham and make the new manager announcement next week. This is very odd. Contracts are broken all the time. Why is Doha so important I wonder?

I am sure Crosby and Garner will be fine, Mike Whitlow has repeatedly said he doesn't want the gig.
Training by Crosby, Garner and Clough in the week, team has had consistency with the new management team all week.
I have no idea why Doha is so important but maybe, Mr Clough believes it is important to honour an agreement?

Let's hope all goes well tomorrow, but I would have rather have lost without Clough in place than lose when he can't make it. It feels to me (and I couldn't be more pleased to have him back) that we're starting half-c o c k with a danger that Crosby and Garner get it in the neck.

His agreement with Burton Albion must have been to start pitch side after Gillingham then. Strange the details were not released until today?

Maybe this is the hitch that was alluded to on twitter last weekend?

Sometimes stuff happens, I have every faith in Garner and Crosby too. Cock by the way is/not censored edit, not
