Last home match of this generally miserable season What will be, will be - I doubt anyone foresees anything other than a defeat for the Brewers - how we would all love to be proved wrong....

Certainly not out of the realms of possibility that it could be our last home game in League One for a long time or even ever.
Highly probable we'll lose but the only shred of hope is that Reading have nothing to really play for.

What a game to take my daughter for her first game to…
It could be toxic come 445 if it’s turgid again and Cheltenham are winning.
I can only see a 0-1 defeat.

Expecting a sold out away end(minus inflatables as we've banned them) and a celebratory atmosphere from their fans that they've survived and that a takeover of the club is imminent(they hope). I really don't see how we recover from last night in such a short space of time and that MP or anybody else for that matter can coach this team into how to attack properly. The only thing he can do is change personnel and I would start by dropping Deji from the 18 given he was responsible for losing two headers last night that resulted in goals. Strange how he wins them in the middle of the park but not in his own six yard box. The fact is that we just don't have the players and poor Joe Hugill upfront is looking worse as the games go by. Not his fault, he is a young lad that has been thrust into a team that have no attacking ability or creativity so he resorts to running around like a headless chicken. May as well give Hudlin and Hackford a start as they can do no worse(actually they probably can) as they have been unused in the main since January and are probably not as scarred as some of the others due to recent events albeit they have looked completely useless when they have played but you never know. Desperate times call for desperate measures as they say. I expect a defeat of say 2-0 or 3-0 and the players being booed off before MP then embarks on his final week of decent training before the last match at Fleetwood.

Well we've had no good news on the sacking front so it looks like he's in charge for Saturday.

I heard online that Reading have actually sold more tickets than we have, which isn't surprising but says all that Ben needs to know about the fans' feelings

People say we haven't got strikers, and they do have a point, but we do have five or so on the books. Why not do something shocking, and actually play them? Not just one, but two or maybe even three?
The more strikers we have on the pitch, considering we hoof it and only play it long, surely we'd have more chance of something coming off?
Having one lone guy up there in Hugill, what chance does he have? We're not playing with any width either, which makes chance creation pretty non existent. Five shots last night, one on target.
The problem is we've been debating tactics for months, Paterson WILL NOT budge on his failing project. You can guarantee that it will be five at the back against Reading, even with our defensive shortage.
Go 4-4-2, or 4-3-3, have a go for a change, grow some balls Martin and stop being a soft wet fart all the time.

Surely Ben can hear the boos? Can he not see what we see ? His insistence in one up front and five at the back is beyond parody. The man is chronically out of his depth. The only silver lining for relegation is that hopefully he will be gone. We need a full root and branch clear out. Sort the pitch out. The catering, the marketing of the club. We need to get rid of half of the squad and a capable, astute manager who can adapt the team and get them actually attacking the opponents goal. Losing I can take, not having a go I cannot. Saturday could be toxic if we lose and play badly. Why not mix it up ? He literally has nothing else to lose as a week Monday he is down the job centre.

Scrambled thinking and talking crap must be catching. Spent too much time listening to MP's words of wisdom. Strange, in a general election year, we will all have to get used to listening to MP's telling us what they are going to do and over promising and under achieving. We've always been ahead of the game down at the Pirelli where we have our very own MP who's been doing exactly that for the last 3 months!!

Personally won't be expecting anything but a lose......sorry this team isn't good enough. Anything else will be a bonus..... however we will be there and supporting the team....but frankly after such a good support at the Cheltenham game it didn't make any difference to the team.

You are usually one of the most optimistic posters on here, Jean. I think you sum-up the mood of many. I expected defeat against Stevenage but we somehow managed to win I expected us to get a point against Cheltenham. Mmm... I expect Reading to beat us comfortably.

I think Reading are going to hammer us on saturday, they will be far to slick and skilful for our players. We've upset them now too, with banning their supporters from bringing inflatables.I do hope this won't happen but the way we set up in games with our clueless manager,i can't see any other outcome.

It's just so hard to see anything other than a loss at home, and I absolutely hate that it is like that. At this point, I just want to know our fate as soon as possible so we can put this disgusting season behind us and start again with fresh ideas in the summer.

Can’t see anything but a loss, the season has been a disaster from start to finish with various players shipped out and two managers one of which has been a total disaster, anyone else would have resigned by now. Unfortunately the powers that be continue with decisions the fans find unacceptable, how to bring your fan base down and become indifferent to any form of criticism. Jack and Steve’s blog tells it how it is,true fans who care! No doubt the club will bumble along after the season ends, but really the whole place needs to be reorganised from season tickets ,ticket prices, segregation, and obviously a new manager with new staff. Otherwise we will be joining Forest Green very soon.
