First half today was exceptional. Really enjoyed that. Second half we predictably sat back and invited pressure but thankfully we held on. Sorry to say but I thought Mason Bennett today was useless. He didn’t win anything all day. Run around like a headless chicken. Good atmosphere today. Daughter was delighted with a choice of beach balls at the end. Thankfully the stewards did not give the kids the inflatable penis or blow up doll.. Overall a great day in the sunshine. 1 more point should be enough. We all thought Bennett ran his socks off and had a good game

Referee and his officials, excellent today. Not entirely excellent, there was a foul on Harper second half and the ref gave it the other way!

The rest were to a man excellent.

Bennett rated 7.9 on FotMob, not only our best player but the best on the pitch.

Have to say I came but thought we would lose ! Never saw 3 goals in the equation, but my heart sank as the subs came on, thankfully we dug in and got the win. My thoughts Bennett....played well. Crocombe....played well. Joe Powell ....I thought was waving goodbye...never seen applause to our supporters from a player leaving the pitch for an injury. Mustapha...well deserved mom. Hugill....sorry but not my fav....he cannot control the ball, cannot win headers and frankly I don't rate him 🤦. All our players played well to secure a win....

Bennett rated 7.9 on FotMob, not only our best player but the best on the pitch. Really? Obviously I need to go to specsavers then as I didn’t see him win anything. Changing subject but I thought the reading fans throwing stuff at crocombe was appalling and then chanting at him whilst he received treatment. He did well not to react.

Mason Bennett has been outstanding in the last few games he has played, despite fitness problems.

Bennett rated 7.9 on FotMob, not only our best player but the best on the pitch. Ryan Sweeney rated 8.0 and man of the match according to Fotmob. Not Mason. Muzzy Carayol was deservedly man of the match from people that were actually at the game. IMHO.

I'm pissed off because after watching Carlisle, Cheltenham, etc I decided save my stress levels at home for another season. I am really happy that we are nearly playing another season in Division one. Really think you should go down fighting and we wasn't. That would have put Burton in a difficult situation next season. I know it's never over till it is over. Listening on the radio could hear that song "don't worry" and it's not "be happy". I wonder who will be the new manager? Onwards and Upwards. Have great summer. 👌👏😎

All that mattered today was getting the three points. We did just that and the roar from the crowd at the end of full time was pretty special.
Probably the most deserved man of the match award of the season to Carayol. Thoroughly deserved. He caused them a lot of problems down that left-hand side in the first half and a wonderful goal. Credit to Bobby Kamwa as well.
I too thought Mason Bennett worked his socks off and was probably playing with an injury.
It did look like a cheerio from Joe Powell when he had to go off. He’s been an ever present and a mainstay of the side along with the Hamer, Hughes and Brayford over four very difficult seasons. He deserves a go at a bigger club who I suspect will come in for him.
Pleased for all the players and the manager who haven’t deserved the vitriol that has been thrown at them in recent weeks
Let’s hope the celebrations aren’t just a little premature!

Credit to the manager today for getting his starting 11 spot on. He has had a lot of criticism recently so credit where credit is due. My heart sank when we went to a back 5, but on reflection I am not sure we would have kept up that performance for the full 90 minutes and would likely have been picked off a few times into the second half. A brave call to tighten it up, but on balance the right one I think.
Was really pleased for Bobby and Carayol today - they both deserve more minutes than they have had this year and ultimately they were the difference in the first half.

I was trying to make the point that Bennett ran his wotsits off and put us ahead with the vital first. Mustafa was awesome for a hour but substituted I guess so 7.2.

How does Fotmob make these assessments? Not 100% sure to be honest. A bit like how the League Paper put marks in for each player every Sunday and a match rating without actually being at the game! Would be interesting to see if the LP marks are the same as those on FotMob. I am guessing they are either going by stats submitted by Opta during the game or I have sometimes seen people in the media seats with an app on their phone, (not sure if they are Opta or some other data agency) recording passes, tackles, headers etc. all very data driven and doesnt seem to take any real account of the context of a game. Hence why I take very little notice of the player ratings on those sites as they often dont reflect what I have seen with my own eyes.

3 massive points against a better side than the likes of Carlisle, Exeter, Vale etc…
MP has been chopping and changing in the hope that something clicked, May have got lucky with his latest selection but imo his strongest line up should not have taken this long to figure out.
Everyone put a shift in today but the players who really stood out for me were, Crocombe, Sweeney, Seddon, Carayol, Helm, Bennett , Kamwa and I thought Harper looked very good as he did so against Portsmouth away but then got dropped? Harper I feel if given game time could be a decent player as he puts his foot on the ball and plays the way he’s facing under pressure and he can win the ball also. Just the basic requirements for a decent midfielder. As mentioned in a previous post, why the ref gave that free kick against Harper when it was a clear foul on him??
We as a team really need to stop giving away cheap fouls as it’s caused us problems all season, MP should have been on that and sorted it!!
Could that have been Powell’s last game as he waved when coming off, or was he just waving in appreciation being our final home game? He was playing well today but I don’t think he’s done enough over the season and I always think he’s possibly not as good in terms of making an impact as Simpson, Weir, Naylor, Terry…….
Going to Fleetwood now after that performance and hopefully we will stay in this great league with the likes of Mansfield, Rotherham….

And thanks for being front of house all season (again). You do an almost great job. It would be absolutely great if you pulled my 50/50 ticket out 😀

Hopefully nobody noticed but the voice almost went a couple of times yesterday. The raw emotion and magnitude of the game and result got to me on at least a couple of occasions and, for a change, I was out of my seat to call the Muzzy and Bobby goals. The 50/50 we will see what we can do next season! You’ve got to be in it to win it!
