As Gerry rafferty once sung. Trouble is, we do not get it right next time. We get it wrong. Sure he didn’t sing about that.

I think we can do no worse than what we have now - so let him go and get a combination of the backroom plus the older statesman players. We just need to be organised Saturday and use the strengths we have.
It would also add a few hundred to the gate. As last night there was a lot of “im not coming again while he is here”
Ben - he is costing you money and credibility. Sack him today or we are down.

I agree Annable. I still think under Dino we would've struggled but I think he would've just done enough to get us over the line, unless the behind the scenes stuff had left Ben with no choice. I can't fathom how he's still in the job. I've never seen our fanbase so united in the fact they want a manager out of the door. As I've said elsewhere he's out of contract very soon, what have we really got to lose by making a change? If Ben had appointment him on a longer deal then I could understand his dithering a little more. If he remains in charge expect another week of 'brilliant training' and a horror show on Saturday. I'm not for player power, but I wish a few of the senior lads were knocking on Ben's door this morning and giving him a gentle nudge. I must confess Fred, I was shocked to hear ‘Martin Paterson get out of our club’ ringing from the Don Amott stand last night. They couldn’t have been clearer. That's the third time it's happened.

The club needs to reset itself,a new manager with strong knowledge of League Two football, who can identity players who are proven at that level, the present manager needs to go along with all the coaching staff, sorry not good enough and if still here at the start of next season, then we can look forward to the conference, don’t reward failure with more failure it’s not washing with the fans, remember it’s now four seasons of this nonsense. As for the chairman start concentrating on the football club, the community stuff that’s regularly spoken about, what good will it do if the club sinks like a stone back to non-league. Full commitment to the football side of things must be the number one priority,or just sell the club to someone who wants to keep Burton Albion in the football league, all the chairman’s good work is now starting to unravel at an alarming pace. Just get a proper football manager in place, and stop selling your best players, every time someone waves a cheque book, you reap what you sow and I’m afraid the kids in the forward line have been found wanting, well done Mr Chairman the ball is firmly in your court!

If we manage to stay up by maybe a point or gd would the club be coming out with new ridiculous merch , the new great escape and pretend mp is OK and everything's going to be alright . New man for me next season please also like the idea of a football man solely in charge of footballing decisions not Mr Robinson as much as he does brilliant for the clubs finances.

Interesting that Gerry and billy connolly were in a folk band together. Off topic I admit but its more enjoyable than talking about our predicament.

Gerry wrote some great songs and didn’t get the recognition he deserved. Baker Street (probably his most famous song) is superbly crafted. Get a Gerry Rafferty CD for the car the next time you have a bit of a drive to do - you won’t regret it.

Unfortunately I lost the CD.

What is everyone’s opinion on whether MP should stay next season?
I’m really split on it personally, because ultimately the results haven’t been good enough for a long period of games - but this isn’t a team that he has built, he’s had to work with the rubble of previous managers and a very small budget too. Also, his interviews after he came in were very directed towards hitting the short term goal of staying up - he’s done that now (barring Cheltenham turning into prime Barcelona), so does he deserve the chance to do a rebuild in the summer?
This leads onto my second point because if he doesn’t deserve it, who takes over from him? I personally don’t see many great options that are realistic for us in our current spot because right now we are favourites to go down next season.
Interested in what everyone thinks, because it is a big decision and we can’t afford to get it wrong. Hopefully it gets made quick so that we can crack on for next season

Thoughts re MP.....give him a chance to bring in his own players. He inherited a team already in freefall and yes it's been a hard watch, I wish he would just do what he thinks and not consult with Mills etc.... just go with your gut.

A fresh start and more experience required to make us more competitive in this division, a safer pair of hands, of course that does not guarantee success but I think it will give us a better chance. The club needs a refit on the pitch and in the stands, next season looking at who could be in L1, could be even tougher than this one. Four at the back today was almost forced upon him by injuries, if not we'd gave probably gone with five at the back and everyone would've been in meltdown mode after a thumping. Tactically he's been poor more often than not so far and you won't win fans back with the style of football that has been on show. I appreciate his passion for the job but Jake & Dino we're both very much the same. IF we keep him on it should be on a shorter term contract due to not performing particularly well in what seems to be a 'trial' period. So that if we start terribly next season we can move him on swiftly. If I was a gambling man, I'd put my money on Ben keeping him around, although I don't think its the right decision moving forward. Although let's see what Cheltenham do first.

He still needs to go. One swallow does not make a summer. If he keeps us up, then his stock increases and he will get another job / perhaps conference level. We need to clear the decks. Next season will be tough. Wrexham will splash the cash, Wednesday might be down again plus perhaps Bolton or posh. For me I just want entertaining like the first half today. Was excellent.
