Its amazing really, a few seasons back £350k would have been fantastic, now although it is not to be sniffed at it feels quite cheap. Tony Bentley asked the question on Twitter that if Conor Washington was £3.5m then does that make him 10 times the player that Nasser is? To be fair I think the fee for Washington was a bit lower than that and Washington is 3 years younger than Nasser but I totally get where he's coming from. I think we've been absolutely mugged off to be perfectly honest but when you've got a player that only wants to play for one man and a club that has to take whatever's offered then you've not really got much choice. Mikeyboy also mentioned the deficit from last year. I'm actually starting to think that one of the reasons Nigel was brought in over a rookie manager may have something to do with the fact that we're right on the edge of our FFP limit and the ship needed a little stabilising financially. He did it on a grander scale at Derby. I'm not saying we're in any kind of trouble but maybe we just need to reign it in a bit? Just a thought. It could all be censored work. Interested to hear your thoughts...

Keep the faith Brewers

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3406704/Queens-Park-Rangers-sign-Peterborough-striker-Conor-Washington-2-8m-deal.html There were a few clubs after Washington. P'boro had already paid Newport £220K, plus they get a 25% sell on fee of £700K. So they sold him for £1.8M less what they had invested in him. A player is worth what someone is willing to pay. Did we have any other interest/offers for Nasser. If we're not happy with £350K then say no thanks. You could suggest that he only wanted to play for Jimmy but I don't know about that. What if Ronald Koeman had made a bid? You could also suggest he doesn't want to play for Nigel. I don't know that either but there was some obvious friction whenever he was subbed off. When Jimmy was here he often said that Nasser could play in the Championship. At the end of the day I think Nasser wants to play as high a level he can, and he knows Jimmy believes in him. Confidence is a big part of success in this game so I think he has made the right move. He helped us get promoted and to the top of League One plus we get a decent fee. Everyone's a winner.

It's not a decent fee, unless there are add ons(sell on clause plus so many appearances money etc) JFH has a bargain and many people will see it as not a good piece of business, maybe not needing to sell the best players is simply not true.

Yes it's a good move for Nasser. Just think he and Jimmy could have stopped and seen the season out as we are top of the league. Could understand it if we were mid table but we're not. Good riddance to them both and I reckon they should be thanking Burton Albion for giving them a chance! Nasser is a skillful player but we have better players at the club... Adios!!!

Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony was on Soccer AM this morning. Whilst obviously not disclosing the fee for Washington he did say there were loads of add ons including international call-ups (apparently Northern Ireland are on the brink of picking him) getting promotion, staying up should QPR get up and lots of other clauses for more payments. He also tweeted at the time that Newport would get a 'near 7 figure sum' by the time it he sale was completed.
Nasser hasn't been quite the same player since JFH left. He clearly idolises Jimmy and if his heart isn't in Burton then I would prefer a squad dedicated to the cause at a time when we need to maintain focus for a crucial run in.
We don't know if the rumoured fee is a down payment or inclusive of add ons and we will probably never find out.
Nasser was always frustrated at being subbed, whoever the manager was. Nigel rated Nasser. He likened him to Keith Gilroy and also Jamie Murphy from his Sheff United days as players you got the ball to as much as possible. At Gillingham, Gary Crosby told him pre match to get on the ball as much as he could. To demand the ball to do his thing. Whilst inconsistent he can be a matchwinner. Will he cut it in the Championship? Time will tell but the QPR fans seem like an unforgiving bunch!
Compared to fees for other players going from League One upwards £350k is not that much although undoubtedly the biggest fee we have ever received.

I have just drank an apple juice (No joke). But my Burton support stems back to Wembley vs Fleetwood...! Maybe Ba2.

Seems that the £350K is coming from the London end, but looks accurate.
