Really disappointed to see Gavin Ward leave. Big John was singing his praises as a top goalkeeping coach only a few days ago. Not sure what Nigel's old mate will offer us to be honest.
Jobs for the boys ?

Disappointing to see Gavin Ward go , but at least he hasn't been pushed out with nowhere to go to make way for Taylor .Not surprised about Binnom-Williams although he was supposed to be on a season long loan , he hasn't even made the bench for the last few games .
With him and Remi going back it does free up a couple of places for new loan players if needed .

Bit of a strange one, JBW. Early season sub appearances were phenomenal from him but whenever he started a game he seemed lost. Was it Southend at home he looked absolutely out on his feet after about 20 minutes and got subbed at half time? Also against Colchester he was making a few mistakes and was letting the frustration get the better of him. The talent is definitely there but something isn't quite right. Maybe just needs a fresh start. Whatever, I wish him all the best.

I'm a bit disgusted with this. It is certainly jobs for the boys. Were Garner and Taylor interviewed, were their posts advertised, did others apply, we all know the answer to that. I'm a fan of what Nigel did at this club and am happy to support him but this does him no favours.
Modern football and let's say since Nigel first came here in the late 90's, is all about modern training methods, coaching methods, video analysis, statistics, sports fitness, sports science, sports psychology, specialists, tactics, formations, strategies, coaching badges and so on..................like it or not (I don't!) that is football these days and that is what new players come into and expect. We are on the edge of Championship football this isn't Gresley Rovers FC.
You sensed with Rowett and indeed Pesch a lot of this came into the club, new ideas and approaches by specialists and most certainly continued under JFH and the hugely impressive Oldfield.
Lovely bloke Andy Garner, decent player but I'm not convinced one jot that Garner, Taylor et all fit into that model.

And I just said he scored the best goal v Chesterfield. Well anyone who doesn't get games and on loan is bound to be on the cut back list. I liked him but he seemed as said above, in and out of games when picked.
All the best, I'm sure he will get a run of games elsewhere, better for him in the long run.

Sounds more like QPR wanted Gavin Ward rather than we wanted Martin Taylor in to take over his goalkeeper coach duties. In other words it must have been offered to Ward from Jimmy/QPR and he decided to go.

I struggle to see how it's Clough's fault that QPR have taken Ward. He's approached by Jimmy and we now have an experienced replacement.

Do we know if he was pulled to QPR or pushed from BAFC? Why didn't he go with Jimmy in December? Or did something happen here, decisions on Remi, Deano? Perhaps Jono knew something was up when he did the interview. A bit strange.
But we are a bit heavy on the management staff side, enough to start a match.

Don't get the jobs for the boys complaint above
That's football - a manager tends to take a team of trusted staff with them wherever they go
All the managers do it
The goalkeeping coach who's left to join JFH - he won't have gone through a recruitment process in same way neither will oldfield when he joined as assistant to JFH at QPR and neither will the guys Rowett took with him as his coaching team from us to Birmingham
Nigel bringing in his own guys is exactly same as what all the managers do (with very few exceptions)
They use people they trust
Same often applies with first player signings they make
Only ones who recruit tend to be new managers who don't have anyone they trust already part of their entourage

I see we are advertising for a Senior Academy Physiotherapist , is this another person that has been nicked by JFH ?

Gavin Ward may have stayed on to suck it and see how it goes after JFH and Oldfield left. Now they may need him at QPR and asked him to join them. Again thinking the opposite who Knows, Nigel wants his own man in on the GK side and sort of made him want a move. Something in that interview maybe McLaughlin singing the praises of Ward, then he goes?

And if either Rowett, JFH or Nigel get sacked in next 2 or 3 years all their entourage will expect to get sacked with them soon enough if not at same time
That's the life in football

You could argue we were very light on coaching staff side tbh All of a sudden top of League 1 but still with a non league coaching set up very much We don't even have paid scouts at any level as a club We've move forward very quickly in a short space of time but coaching staff wise uptil now it's been very light That's not a complaint but an observation Of course we need to be careful how we grow but we are only high on numbers compared to what we used to have rather than compared to other clubs in this League (lower down the league than us)

Well the asst groundman wasn't nicked by him that's for sure, blame Leicester City I heard on Sat. Hopefully all these changes aren't because Nige is back, or are they? Physio vacancy, now where is Matt Brown??

I believe that some of the staff are on what I would call normal employee contracts, i.e. that they have a 4 week notice period. I have no idea whether this is the case with Gavin Ward, but it is just over 4 weeks since Jimmy left.

Unless I am mistaken, we only have one more member of 'management' that when JFH was here.

Thats not Non league? We got to the top of L1 with fewer than we have now?
