So your thoughts are exactly that then. Nothing set in stone, just speculation on your part
Good for you running your own business though, I do as well

Nothing set in stone, just speculation on your part Good for you running your own business though, I do as well Earwig Not sure what business you are in etc but I know over the years I've come to know my best staff from my worst and it takes a few months (sometimes years) to figure it out as well some times And even when you think you know someone they sometimes surpise you good and bad Nigel will know the strengths and weaknesses of who he employs IMO Some of the new guys I've employed can't even get to work on time and you live and learn!

This thread is going off at a tangent now
I've dealt in facts, not speculation or my thoughts

Oh dear, Clough's Night of Long Knives. All the old band are being brought back, and the clock is being turned back to the future. When Clough was appointed he said the backroom staff would be staying. Little more than a month later, and they are gone. Clough's talk of little in the way of changes blown out of the water. There has been much stick handed out to Jimmy Floyd, most of it unwarranted. Given the choice, I'd have him back tomorrow. We are going backwards appointing has beens and serial failures at league clubs. It may not immediately be clear, but things started to unravel today. The players will be unsettled, to say the least.. Most fans will be, too. I sincerely hope to be proved wrong, but the signs are pointing downwards now. So JFH takes the goalkeeping coach to QPR and Cloughie moves quickly to fill the position and you feel that is reason to have a go at Clough? Well done Cloughie I say for getting someone in quickly rather than having no goalkeeper coach for a few weeks. Having looked at your previous posts it is evident you only come on here now and again to complain about something. If you are proven wrong and we go on to win this league and play in the championship next season, i imagine we wont see you for a while. You might pop back if we are struggling next season though complaining that we should be walking the championship or some other rubbish. We are top of league one. Nigel has won 3 and drawn 1 of his opening 4 games (including Gillingham because he was working with the players all week before) Doesn't seem like the players are too unsettled to me. What is there to moan about?!!

Cannot believe all the fuss over this issue. Expecting all hell to set loose should we lose a game or two. Get a grip and let the manager manage.

We are at huge risk of becoming the fans we bemoan (QPR...).
I think there will be posts calling for Clough's head if we lose two, and I wish I was joking...!
If we finish 2nd I reckon some plonkers will complain we didn't get a title haha. Or if we won in the play-offs 'well, we shouldn't have been there in the first place, bloody Clough'

I queried this with the Birmingham County FA a few years ago to determine whether to count appearances and goals against first team stats. Their response was that they consider it a first team competition but teams from Conference upwards are allowed to play 'weaker'/reserve sides. When Nigel was here before we reached the final against Birmingham City. The County FA insisted it was played on a certain date at St Andrews the day before we had an important League game. We played the reserves against Birmingham and lost 5-0. A bit more foresight from the County FA and we could have had a different date, at the Pirelli with a much larger crowd instead of the 300 that went to St Andrews. Might be a silly question, or a obvious answer, why is it (and correct me if I'm wrong on this) we always play away in the BSC?? I asked the same question after the last game and was told that a number of years ago the draw was intentionally tweaked to give the 'smaller' clubs the home game. The smaller clubs go in pot A and the bigger clubs go in pot B. Whether it is an official rule of the cup ?? But in the latter rounds if there were only bigger clubs left there may just be one pot. Again, this was just a question and an answer, nothing official.

Well my take on this is, JBW has gone- no great loss, A coach for 1 maybe 2 players has gone and been replaced- no big deal, we are top of L1 safe from relegation and its only January- Fantastic. There is a lot of shite being posted on this thread, my advice would be, get on with your life, do your jobs, run your businesses, enjoy your families and good health if you are fortunate to have it, and then the icing on the cake- enjoy the good times with the Brewers, these are the best times EVER, I and a lot of people I know remember some really low and tough times, so appreciate the here and now tremendously. Reading todays Burton Mail, it sounds like Gavin Ward was always going to go across to QPR with Jimmy - it was just a case of when not if. Maybe he stayed on the extra month at Burton due to issues that needed resolving at QPR or maybe it was even to give a bit of continuity during the management change (in which case it goes to show what a good guy JFH is).
Obviously, some are disappointed that rather than appointing Cloughie Ben didn't hang on a few days and make Mourinho manager as he was clearly going to be available. Just for the record, if someone had told me when we played Man Utd 10 years ago, that in 2016 we'd be top of League 1 and had Nigel Clough (and his team) as manager I'd have been delighted but I wouldn't have believed them!
