This weekend we welcome Doncaster to the Pirelli. This will be Nigel Cloughs first home game (and technically the first game in charge).
I am hopeful that we can get a result here.
Doncaster form: W3D1L1 (wins vs Crewe, Chesterfield, Colchester, draw Cov, loss rochdale) Burton form: W4D0L1 (Very good)
Doncaster away form: W2D1L2 Burton home form: W4D1L0
Doncaster are coming off the back of a very dramatic win from 2-1 down to 3-2 in injury time.

This weekend we welcome Doncaster to the Pirelli. This will be Bigel Cloughs first home game (and technically the first game in charge). I am hopeful that we can get a result here. Bigel? Is this the new manager... Brian, Nigel, Bigel? Not technically, actually. How can one be in charge of a game from Qatar? Anyway, no worries all he has to do is play the same team as long as everyone is fit! Another clean sheet and a few more goals in the +GD column will do nicely thanks!

Cheers. Edited. Are you joking? Didn't realise he was still over there. When the hell is he back?!

Cheers. Edited. Are you joking? Didn't realise he was still over there. When the hell is he back?! No probs, I thought it was quite poignant typo. You are right in saying technically Doncaster will be Nigel's first game in charge (pitch side). I was just agreeing by saying not (only) technically, (but also) actually. How can you be in charge of a game from Qatar. He's back for Doncaster. I think? Unless he maybe met up with Al-Hasawi out there? ... Banter

I am going to speculate slightly that whatever Nigel is doing in Qatar is very well paid (doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out)
And that although in an ideal world he would have liked to pull out to be with Burton sooner and the Qataris would have understood. There are probably contractual obligations that make it expensive to either Nigel or Burton to break the contract
And whereas a bigger club could take that expense as a financial hit - we aren't in the position to do so.
It's not ideal but it's understandable.

I thought I read that Ben said Nigel would be back for Monday. and I also read he will be at Bedworth tonight for the BSC game. Anyway I and I suspect most others are not concerned, because He has taken the reins from last week and that is good enough for me. To use the not too good a term. this situation is a "no brainer". I am looking forward to Doncaster which will also be another difficult game, and to quote Lucas Akins. "The good performance and win at Gillingham will be worth nothing if we then lose to Doncaster.

Burton form: W5D0L0 (Jesus) W4D0L1 surely? 4 wins on the bounce since the Bury defeat. Good form nonetheless. Hope we get a decent crowd in for Clough's return to the Pirelli.

^^^ Noteable poor attendances last Sat before Xmas, hoping for a few extra myself but can't see it happening.
Where we are in the league we should be 4k+ every home match, more when those big guns come to town, ain't happened.

Hopefully it's W5D0L0 after this weekend!
Would also be great if some of the chasers could drop points.
Also suspect attendances to be poor - but - Derby away, new manager should hopefully boost attendances.
I think our fluctuation in support is also driven by the away following of the team attending.

Tough game. Donny just picking up a head of steam after appointing Darren Ferguson two months ago. I noticed their squad includes some very experienced players who've played 2nd tier football and, given that they're only 7 points off 6th place, they'll fancy a serious tilt at the play offs and possibly even automatic promotion.
If we can keep it unchanged from last week then that would be fantastic but I would expect an exceptionally tight game.
Big period coming up. Our next 5 games are against teams either in form or coming into form.

I was in the shop yesterday and was told that they had been busier than normal issuing tickets for Saturday's game .So who knows we might get a good attendance for Nigel's first home game .Finger's crossed .

Kuwait City is 500 miles from Doha....but as was so obviously stated that was a bit of banter lol Nigel was doing a panel show thing in Qatar for the Euro2016 draw, apparently. There was a rumour that he had also booked a family holiday for while he was there. I have only seen the rumour and have not seen anything concrete to back it up.

Where we are in the league we should be 4k+ every home match, more when those big guns come to town, ain't happened. When we were promoted to L2 our avg attendances went from 1800ish to 3200ish the first season, and some of that would have been down to higher away numbers, as well as higher local support. then over the next 4 seasons it hovered between 27K-29K. Last season when we were rolling and eventually won the league the avg went backup to 32K . It would have been expected and nice if 'our' numbers had taken another big jump like in 2009-10 but it hasn't happened. Attendances have been higher this season but that is as much to do with increased away numbers than an increase in our numbers. We are getting a few hundred more on avg but it has to grow. So everyone bring a friend or two.

As I have mentioned elsewhere, maybe when Mr Clough shakes a hand and agrees to do something, he does it? Honour works both ways, if Mr Robinson was aware and arrangements were put in place in his absence, I don't see the issue whatsoever.
