It's not me saying that tm it was reported, whether we believe the reports is the question... "McLeod has another year left on his contract at Crawley but along with the rest of the squad had to accept a pay cut following the drop into League Two." www.theargus.co.uk/sport/13317779.Crawley_boss_set_for_talks_with_his_star_striker/I have no idea whether we are paying higher wages than Crawley but I don't think we are paying big wages so just assumed we were. I don't see us paying a 31 year old player big money but stranger things happen.

Thanks peacock, I had read a similar article earlier in the week. I don't know but would have thought we could offer him a better deal than Crawley. Its a good idea to have the odd old head amongst the younger ones may be. Who knows all will be revealed over the next few weeks. I quite like Izale, when you can get him firing he's a very useful finisher.

footballleagueworld.co.uk/burton-albion-make-enquiry-for-ex-oldham-athletic-striker/This may be a few days old but it does firm up our interest in Kallum Higginbotham. Personally I will be surprised if we don't hear something this week. Must admit I am quite pleased we have dropped our interest in Nathaniel Mendez Laing but slightly surprised we are no longer interested in Izale Mcleod. Perhaps he has decided to stay, had a better offer or his wage demands or fee are too large. There seems to be some reports we may bring Jack Dunn back in from Liverpool, I wouldn't mind seeing Kevin Stewart come back here either.

I am sure you have all read todays Burton Mail and it would appear we will have our 3rd signing of the summer in Kallum Higginbotham if he passes a medical. Odd how all our signings so far have the same Christian name but all are spelt differently. The article also states that Tom Naylor will sign once his contract with the sheep expires on 1st July. Nasser is with us already for next season and thinking over an extended 2 year contract on top of that. I am pleased with dealings so far and would have thought the striking department is the main area we will look to strengthen now.

And they have to catch the bus or ride a pushbike to the match, often eating fish & chips as they walk into the ground. Or perhaps me and TM are living in the past...

My best guess is about £1000 a week for a first teamer on average. There will be some on significantly more, others, the fringe players on a bit less. It is only a guess though!

I think first year pros will be on only 300 to 400 per week
And someone like beavon might be on 1500 per week
The rest in between

(From FB) - A Sky reporter has suggested on twitter that we are looking at Darius Charles from Stevenage. If true, he would provide cover at LB ad fits Jimmys bill of being a versatile player as he can play midfield and striker. He broke his leg in Feb. . I'll keep an eye open up at St. Georges. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31443935

Darius Charles is a good signing. He's a big strong boy ! Experienced at this level and a versatile team player of good character.

This is a top signing! My Stevenage supporting mate rates him massively and is gutted he has left!

Nice to see Tom Naylor on the Brewers line today looking for a gardener ! Feel confident he will be on the books next week. Also I can understand Kallum Higginbotham's reasons for staying in Scotland, shame though I thought he would be a great acquisition. July 1st next week may well see some transfer action as most clubs player contracts come to an end.
