I quite liked JBW as a LB to be honest. McCrory has been a weak link so far this season (imo).

Feel for the lad, he seemed to be enjoying his time at Cambridge and the fan's seemed to like him, hopefully he will come back stronger from it and get back into the side for us.

That really is sad news both for Zeli and BAFC, he was just beginning to get in his stride as well, 2 assists against Vale. You really start to wonder if his injuries are going to blight a very promising career. I'm a real fan of Zeli, I get a buzz when he gets the ball, when he goes direct most full backs end up in trouble, I was very much looking forward to Nasser out left and Zeli out right but maybe that will happen later in the season !

There is always a bright side
If zeli had flown for us next few weeks he may have got recalled from the loan in January
If he's injured for 4 to 6 weeks they may let us extend loan til end of season
Having said all that we might not want to UNLESS we are convinced he can play more than a couple of matches without getting injured
He is so skilful but so injury prone

Fact is if he wasn't injury prone he wouldn't be playing at this level to start with
Let's be honest

Good news for Darius... DARIUS Charles could make an appearance for Burton Albion's under-21 side next week. The experienced defender has been working his way back from a broken leg suffered in February while playing for his former club Stevenage. "Darius is training and he's getting better but is still not very close to the first team," said Hasselbaink. "Damien is back from illness, he was ill last Wednesday and we could not risk him Saturday. Callum Reilly (groin) trained on Wednesday, too. "Stuart had his first training session on Wednesday. He trained with Nick Fenton on Monday and Tuesday, and had no reaction, so on Wednesday he came back into the group and we will see." More positives...Darius Charles will be like having a new player when he's fully fit and hopefully in three or four weeks, we'll have virtually everyone fit and off suspension, apart perhaps from poor old Zeli and of course Kelvin Maynard?
Oh and Tafty now too!

STUART Beavon played through the pain barrier for Burton Albion against Wigan Athletic and will be assessed ahead of the Colchester United game on Saturday, writes ASHLEY WILKINSON. The experienced striker played 70 minutes before being replaced by Timmy Thiele – who set up the Brewers winner in the 1-0 victory. Prior to being replaced, Beavon ran tirelessly for the cause and pressed high up the pitch as the Brewers cut off Wigan's supply routes – and manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink revealed that the 31-year-old was in fact nursing a hip problem during the game. But there was better news for on-loan left-back Jerome Binnom-Williams, who missed the Wigan game with a sore knee but should be fit for the weekend. "I've not spoken to the physio (Nick Fenton) yet but as far as I know, Stuie (Beavon) had a knock on his hip and he played quite a lot of the Wigan game in pain," said Hasselbaink. "He did really well and eventually we had to change him, but we don't know how he is yet. "Jerome Binnom-Williams had a stiff knee in the morning and couldn't play, but he will be okay for the weekend. "Shane Cansdell-Sherriff is not going to make it (for Colchester) – he has a problem with his groin." Albion are also currently without Zeli Ismail (ankle), George Taft (knee) and Kelvin Maynard (knee). Damien McCrory (hip flexor) is still being monitored but will not be risked yet, as the Brewers face a tough run of games in December. News before the Milwall game... BREWERS INJURY NEWS – WEIR A DOUBT Robbie Weir was spotted after the Brewers' 5-1 win over Colchester United on Saturday with his foot heavily strapped following a tackle in the game. He got a bruised foot for his trouble in a typically robust performance in holding midfield, and Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink admits it is "touch and go". But one player who will not make the game is Shane Cansdell-Sherriff, who is a way off a return after suffering a recurrence of a groin injury in the 1-0 defeat at Bury just over a week ago. Stuart Beavon has been nursing a sore hip but should be okay to play having been rested by Hasselbaink for the final 20 minutes of the Colchester win. Damien McCrory played 45 minutes of that game, his first action in a month since suffering a problem with his hip flexor, and according to Hasselbaink, the left-back is in line to start tonight. Injuries update ahead of Gillingham away: Maynard, Taft, out for season...
Zeli is expected to be in full training soon (would be good for NC can have a look at him before his loan expires early Jan.) Darius has picked up a hamstring injury, no report on a timeframe
Shane is training but will not be ready for Gills No word on Robbie, but he wasn't even on the bench vs Milwall. No word on Beavon, he came off in the 49th minute vs Millwall.

TOM Naylor (foot) and Mark Duffy (ribs) should be fit for Burton Albion tomorrow despite picking up knocks in the 1-0 win over Swindon Town. Both suffered minor knocks against the Robins. But with the Brewers facing a two-week break following the Blackpool game, and with both training this week, manager Nigel Clough anticipates being able to use both players tomorrow. LONG TERM INJURIES REMAIN SIDELINED Darius Charles (hamstring) is facing a lay-off until at least February, having picked up a secondary injury in his recovery from a broken leg suffered last February, while George Taft and Kelvin Maynard (both knee) remain sidelined long-term. Zeli Ismail (ankle) remains sidelined but should return to the Brewers next week for training. His loan deal with Wolves expires on January 9. Not an injury as such but it was on radio derby pre-match report yesterday that Tom Flanagan has had an appendix operation and is out 3-4 weeks.
