I think that proclaiming that we're up if we win tonight is overly optimistic. A huge game, yes...but promotion is far from a foregone conclusion, especially when six of our last ten games are against promotion rivals and defeat tonight means the lead over 4th place is cut to 5 points.
At the minute I think I'm confident but cautious.

True, but I know no one is worrying...

3 points would be a massive result for us 11 points clear of 4th place with 9 to play. COME ON YOU BREW----ERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You've missed what Bury have done lately We are only 6 clear of them now in 4th We need to win tomorrow to be 9 points clear of 4th Lose tomorrow and we are 5 points clear of 4th and 6 points clear of 5th Which is what I mean about being dragged back down into the mix Yes I had over looked the pre season favourites Bury ! Got my maths wrong there ! A win would be a tremendous result with how the league is shaping up, a draw would not be bad and even if we lose it would not be a disaster as we would still be top and in the best position of all the promotion candidates. I want the 3 points to put us in an even stronger position, I really don't want us to limp over the line in the same way as we achieved football league status.

That was a massive result!
That result, and the Hartlepool result, are the two that have got me believing now.

Destiny is in our own hands, we can do this, we can win promotion and we can win the league.

As I stated before, I want first place now. It's in our hands, we are not dependent on anyone else's results and champions are the only team worthy of promotion in my eyes. Still stand by this.

I don't think me saying things makes things happen. I'm not magic.

If you do that, then logically you should also bow down and worship me.

Buzzing, just such an encouraging performance in the 2nd half. We had a couple of early chances, then they started kicking us about and took control, they scored and Robbie was sent off. But one sign of a good team is total focus and commitment to the moment, or the game in this case, when you feel hard done by. The whole team did that in the 2nd half last night. Let's show 'em or die trying attitude, an attitude of champions. So proud of them, and so happy for us! I think Jimmy Floyd's shoes were dirty after this celebration!

Even Southend admitted they didn't know why a penalty was given. Looking like it could be a tough weekend with all the players we now have injured!

Having looked at the sending off several times, I can only assume the ref felt he led with the elbow and he was well placed. However, no reaction from the Southend players? I would have thought they would have been in the ref's face en masse. One of their players pats Robbie on the back as he lies on the floor. Also it looks like the other player had his arm across Robbie's face. It was a 50/50 ball and there is no evidence that Robbie intentionally led with his elbow in my opinion. Red card rescinded.
