Michael Johnson ex Birmingham seems to interested. He's not qualified for the job. He's just an ex player who's coached a bit IMO wasn't gary b4 he got the job

Didn't Johnson have to step down from a job at the FA or PFA for homophobic comments on national telly?

Michael Johnson has just said on the radio Derby phone in that he will be applying to manage us. I'm not sure an American 400m world record holder would make a decent manager in English L2.

He's not qualified for the job. He's just an ex player who's coached a bit IMO wasn't gary b4 he got the job I don't know Garys history as much as I know Michael Johnsons Johnno had a spell as youth coach at Notts County. Then the Notts manager got sacked and he helped someone else be caretaker manager at Notts for two games (can't remember who). Then Martin Allen got the Notts job and Johnno got told service no longer required at Notts full stop. Since then he's coached Birmingham under 16s a couple of evenings a week. He needs a proper job and if he got the Burton job it would be like winning the lottery for him. He's no different to loads of ex pros who have got coaching qualifications and dabbled a bit coaching kids. Nothing to show he should be getting a management job with us IMO. Good luck to him throwing his hat in the ring but I suggest he should be looking for first team coaching roles somewhere before he starts going for first team manager jobs etc.

I would take o driscoll 2moz He's a thinker and a decent guy I think he would work great with the chairman And I'm sure he would be interested in the job Needs a nasty guy as assistant When him and cotteril paired up at Forest they had a good little run together and SOD was the football brains of the pair. Cotterell the nasty side. He then took on a Forest team with about 8 players on the books in july who had finished bottom half previous season and by boxing day they were a point off play offs when he was inexplicably sacked out of nowhere. He had a bad time at Bristol City since then but prior to that he did very well on limited budget at Doncaster. Think he's working for England youth team now

One name in there that has enjoyed a lot of success in his managerial career to date (the odd failure too) and I feel could take up the reins and achieve promotion with this current team - Brian Laws.
