In the other thread I've suggested Steve Burr who has a strong backroom team at Chester FC with Jon Mcarthy his assistant manager and Chris Iwelumo his first team coach.
Always had a good reputation in non league.
He has applied to work for us before but one rumour is he might not apply again due to being turned down more than once in past by the chairman
Alternatively maybe a management team involving Mark Sale to try and give some continuity
He could maybe be an assistant manager or is he good enough to be given a shot as manager with a very strong experienced assistant manager brought in to help him
Should be pointed out summerfield was way more experienced than Rowett and has been a rock for him. Summerfield had gained promotion more than once as an assistant manager elsewhere.
A strong management team is very much what we need. There is way too much to do for one man.

I have a sneaking feeling it could be Paul Ince . Having said that I'm not convinced he would be the right person .

It won't be a manager who is already in a job. I'll put my house on that.
A young ambitious manager who wants to put his freshly attained coaching badges to use at a club that will give him the time and opportunity to get his foot on the managerial ladder.
As earwig said, Darren Moore. As funky said in another thread, Darren Wassall. One of those or even a combo of the two, one as manager and one as assistant. Interesting to see Delap mentioned as well.
Just a suggestion and just because I haven't seen his name mentioned anywhere yet...Ian Sharps to possibly become part of the new coaching set up? Player coach with a view to one day taking the reigns as the main man?

If Lee Clark wants to get back on the horse quickly I would take him tbh
Does Owen coyle want a temporary job for a season?
Give him a nice bonus if we go up

I think Ben will stick with his preference for a young first-time manager. What he won't go for is a journeyman manager who has gone from club to club leaving them all in a worse state than he found them. That rules out most names on the currently-out-of-work list.

why doesn't ben offer summerfield the job? Rowett will have negotiated a package for his management team Summerfield will earn more as assistant manager at Birmingham as he would at Burton as manager. He will be well looked after and have security of a decent contract as well. I would have been very happy with summerfield taking over but no way is Rowett going to take in Birmingham job without him.

Just Googled him.
We're either talking about a cyclist or some bloke who got banged up for attempted murder.
I appreciate that managerial appointments sometimes throw up unexpected names, but...

The fact we are in automatic promotion places would lead me to consider an experienced manager with an established back room team ready to roll I'm all for young first time managers but new guy needs to hit the ground running and can't afford to be learning on the job We are going to have a lot of management/coaching positions to fill straight away

We would be able to get behind the opposition defence easy if we played on bikes, we wouldn't be so good on heavy pitches though...

Appoint the new management team as soon as possible please. Remember Oxford last season, chairman took ages to find a new manager and in that time they slid down the league from top spot, soon were below the play off positions and never recovered form when eventually the new man took over.
