I do hope we ship a couple out but maybe that will be delayed because of the number of injuries we've currently got. Obviously once everyone is fit we'd have 33 players on the books (if we include the 3 new academy players). I wouldn't want us being too bloated. I suspect if any lads do go it'll be Harper, Moon & Bennett, plus four or five of the younger lads out on loan. I do think we could do with a couple more faces however, maybe an attacking/forward thinking midfielder, and a winger. One thing I've noticed is that despite being technically better in terms of footballers, our midfield is lacking size & presence, they're all a bit small, but if they play like Barcelona that won't really matter! Also the squad registration to think about as well, last time I counted (excluding U21s and GKs) we were right on the limit I think I have also looked at this and I think if we work on the basis that two or three of last season's squad are not going to be involved/registered then I think we still have scope to add. Cant recall when the limit is for deciding if someone is under 21 or not and not really refreshed my list since the last couple of signings etc or assuming that Chauke may, or may not be in the frame again now. Pretty sure the rule is 22 outfield players plus gks plus u21s.

Someone near us was talking to Tom in the popside on saturday and he said we have 2 long term injuries and we're looking for loans to plug the gap. They could be out for 3 to 4 months.

Attended a meeting tonight with the owners; another number 8 will be joining on loan due to Webster and Hazelhurst being out

Given that he was barely involved last season, I think Robbo and the new regime will almost see Chauke as a new signing. Good on the lad for sticking at it

Robbos interview on Radio Derby last night suggested that the injuries were not as bad as expected.....weeks rather than months. Also he was asked if any more incoming before the start of the season and he said possibly.

If we think our squad is a little bloated (when everyone is fit), just think of Chelsea, they have 49 players currently on the books, and are still set to sign more.
Saying that, maybe we can bring in another from there at some point.

Maybe announced tomorrow like what we did with choudhury?

If I thought we needed another midfielder, make that 2 now!
Baj out for the season. Terrible luck

It's a shame Bajrami will be out for the season as I'm sure he would've been a good squad player/cover in defensive positions.
One positive is that I don't think when everybody was fit that he would've been a first choice/mainstay and is likely isn't one of our bigger earners. Two season ending injuries twice in a row is insane though, I wonder if it was the same knee, if so it could put his future career in doubt, even with the medical technology of today. Hopefully he can make a quicker recovery than expected, it has been known.
Our injury list over these last few weeks must be up there with one of the worst we've had at the club in a very long time.
If expected, Moon & Harper are leaving, then I think we'll probably now be looking to bring in an additional CB/DM for the season now.

Bajrami missed all of last season with injury too, that's horrible luck.

First and foremost gutted for the lad, can’t be nice missing two consecutive seasons in what is a pretty short career. Lessons do need to be learned here. I know hindsight is lovely however we bought a crock who had just missed a full season, I understand there was always going to be an element of risk and I’m sure Mr Hareide was fully aware but I just don’t see the point in taking gambles such as this. Unless it’s a performance related contract of course.
