Look I'm the corner of that shirt , it says 'USL League One', which is the league he's just come from. It's probably just the only bit of sportswear he had for the medical etc. Yes, I spotted that too, but it did initially take me by surprise - he's clearly being photographed at Pirelli but with a USL 1 shirt - cant find that colour shirt at his old club. I think PAYNE is a real estate agent in Georgia btw. PAYNE is a tribute to his friend and former team mate Carter Payne who died after a car crash. He wears shinpads bearing his name too. www.tormentafc.com/news/2024/05/02/nick-akoto-full-circle/

If the MLS is seen as an amateur league....imagine what the third division must be like. I don't think this signing will turn out well

This is another random, leftfield signing to add to the many we have had so far. I'm starting to think that the recruitment drive lead by the director of football Benedik Hareide is either the work of a madman or a footballing genius who's contacts reach far and wide and can spot up and coming random footballers that nobody else can! Hopefully for all our sake it's the latter. Anyway, not long to wait now and we will see how the new coach can mould these together into a functioning side against Vale on Saturday.

Brentford's recruitment strategy is simple enough-Buy low sell high, collect data from 85,000 players in different leagues around the world? ?? If we become the next Brentford, that's fine by me.

Well at least he didn't come over in dinghy, and I am not stereotypical considering one our signings. Seems very much last minute even though some of the players have been with us a few weeks. Are we ready.๐ Not long to wait now. ๐ค

Out with the old in with the new! Obviously there is a plan, compared to the last four seasons of negative football. And after the fleetwood debacle with Mr Non- Negotiable, some have been moved on with that in mind,Iโm sure there will be comings and goingโs still to come. Whatever happens looking forward to the new season, season ticket at the ready ๐

It doesn't make them amateurs, nor does it make us. We have progressive owners who realise the value in planning for the future, instead of just signing has-beens on six-month contracts.

Helm officially joined Fleetwood Town, shame because he could have been something for us but best of luck to him

I wonder what the fee for Helm is, you'd have to realistically think six figure range.
Maybe he realised or was told he wouldn't be a first choice option going forwards.

I hope there's no pensioners getting defrauded to fund his transfer fee.

I hope there's no pensioners getting defrauded to fund his transfer fee. Well they have just received a rumoured ยฃ500k from Bristol Rovers for Promise Omochere (rumoured to be a club record signing for Rovers), Cian Hayes to Peterborough United for a fee and Jayden Stockley to Port Vale for an undisclosed fee too. Shame, most of that money should have gone to Pilley's victims, to be honest.

Significant fee which exceeded Stevenage's valuation... hope we didn't spend too much or go over the top given we've already seemingly spent a lot. Seems a decent defender on paper, and at almost 6 foot 5 is a decent size.
We now have 9 players that can play centre half so you'd think we'll be seeing departures soon?

If the 500k rumour is correct (all paid upfront too), don't think it is too bad considering we will probably be similar position-wise this season Does that number include the academy lads? Maybe we will play a back 3 after all
