Yesterday I was watching the worst team I have seen in a Burton Albion shirt. I don't remotely blame MP for that. So MP takes no responsibility for the team selection ?

To be honest he did what people on here had been asking for - played 2 up front. If he could have chosen from Bennett, Stockton, Gordon, Lubala, Baah and Walker we’d have given them a game. Unfortunately we had 2 kids who hadn’t played in the League till we signed them. You usually get what you pay for in life and we paid peanuts or probably nothing at all.

I do agree the cards dealt to him have been unkind but I still maintain that a more competent manager could get a tune out of them. We only needed to beat Carlisle and vale at home.

I think we can all agree that we have a poor side, but MP is managing to get the worst out of them.
Who knows maybe with quite a few out of contract and a lot of loans at the club, some just aren't that interested and not giving their all, I'm not saying they've downed tools, but I certainly don't see a set of players that are fighting for their lives right now?
It's no good going all out attack in our position when you are already two or three goals down, in our perilous position right now we need to be going at it from the off, because what MP is doing is not working.
If needs be play 4-3-3, at least if we launch if forwards we've got three strikers in and around the box.

Dave Fletcher also mentioned how he thinks even the players have given up wanting to play MPs style of play/formation. He continued, as soon as that first goal against goes in they seem to give in, as if they are resigned to losing.

But I think Gilligan was centre mid (?) too and he's a ball winner, not the creative one. Repeating myself. Damn it.

After all the changes over the previous games I would go with this team to start, and then bring the likes of Helm, Kamwa and Hughes etc on when needed. We definitely need some width with a solid central midfield with Powell in a deep No10 role….
Crocombe Hamer Brayford Sweeney Seddon
Carayol Oshilaja Harper Bennett
Powell Hugill

Just on MP's interview on Radio Derby, I listened today.
I'm not sure which individuals he was trying to protect when talking about the goals conceded. I would note though:
It is not the first time, at all, this season that we have been caught by a fast breaking team from one of our attacking positions.
I defer to one of Annable's posts earlier in this thread. How many times in recent games have we be been first to a header from a long throw? It does mystify why a defender can seemingly get to 90% of defensive headers, yet when the same defender is in an attacking position, they are nowhere near. It has become so predictable now. I would love yo see the stats he allegedly quoted at the fans forum that suggested it was a valuable, worthwhile option.
He is correct about the atmosphere and about players being a bit afraid to play at home, but No Sh*t Sherlock after 7 consecutive home defeats, how could it be otherwise. And I have heard far, far worse at other grounds. Seriously, is that a reasonable excuse? The players are a bit intimidated by a Burton Albion home crowd shouting nasty things? Poor lads.
And I thought the support was relatively positive at the start of both last two home games.
I still can't get over the situation at Exeter. 1-0 down, gifted a one man advantage at half time but no change until the hour mark. And then Kamwa coming on and playing about 7 positions in 20 mins. That still annoys. Own that or explain that one MP.
Anyway, still got 4 games to go and still off to renew next week.

You can go on and on about who and why. I know I am not travelling anywhere to watch that. I have got a ticket for the Cheltenham game. Really looking forward to that game. Who is it who is charge who picks the manager? How old is he? A man who says Burton have a number of loyal fans. I have heard it all before. Trust me Burton Albion are in big trouble you only just released 7 home defeats down the line, come on get real.

More likely we wear yellow shorts at home because that is what we submitted to the league at the start of the season as our home kit colours.

I asked MP after the recent fans forum why we tended to wear black shorts away from home, when we could quite easily wear the normal all yellow (first choice) kit, for example, if I remember correctly at Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient possibly ( ) His reply was that it was all down to the match officials, implying there was a colour clash. Needless to say I was not convinced with his answer. Long live the black shorts!

Any official who sanctioned all outfield players and officials wearing black shorts (as at Exeter) was not doing a good job. But thanks 😊
