I was listening to the reaction show on Radio Derby (which the whole 60 minutes was dedicated to us by the way - not April Fools I promise) and at 37:47, they said that Ben came to Martin and was effectively telling him to keep his chin up. We are in until the end of the season with Martin whether we like it or not I think www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0hj4lvhAnd so we should be Agreed. It is bad but not quite as bad as the teams keeping us out of the relegation zone. Now is not the time to be down.

I think the answer has to be yes. Whatever happens he isn't going to be here next season and as soon as Duff gets another job he'll be off with him on tens times as much money as he's on with us at the moment. Either way, for the sake of season ticket sales, i'm afraid we need another change as the atmosphere is just too toxic now with him in charge. Sad but true.

Looking towards the summer when we are in League Two, who do we actually get in as manager? Any names people might want?

I'm not against another young manager, but at the same time would like at least some experience.
The one and only thing I'm interested in, is the type of football said manager will play. If it's anything like Dino & Martin have served up, no thankyou. No 5 at the back, no best players out of position, and a desire to score goals and win games.

I still stick with what I’ve previously said. Yes there are things MP could have done better but under Dino we were a poor side. Ben has made things a whole lot harder for MP to put together a team to stay in this league. I’m not saying I think MP is ever going to be a good manager but he really is on a hiding to nothing here. Today you can’t say the players weren’t trying. The effort was definitely there but we are just not good enough. Martin had nowhere else to go than to sign young players that are not upto league one standard and our senior players are not stepping up to the mark. We can all talk and argue about tactics formations team selection etc but the players at MP’s disposal just are not good enough. The budget was swallowed up by Dino. He spent a ridiculous amount of money on Josh Walker which I hope was nothing like £200,000 that has been said on here. I honestly don’t know how much money he cost but was told it was a lot for a club like ours. This is why the club really is suffering now. I’ve thought for a few months that we probably are the weakest side in League One at this time. I hoped very much I was wrong but losing to Carlisle then Port Vale plus the other results over the last however many weeks is proving to be true. I think this time Ben’s mistakes with Dino and the cost cutting in January is definitely a step to far and it’s very difficult to see how we can stop relegation now. For me it’s up to the players to prove me wrong. I honestly hope they do.

I appreciate I am clutching at straws but I offer as evidence: the first half against Barnsley. Harper in front of the back FOUR and Joe Powell further forward.
I still think this is a decent squad who are managed poorly. Very poorly. Bringing Deji on to replace Mason Bennett. Really?!
I've got nothing against Martin Paterson. Other than his record as Brewers manager.

It’s all about opinions sinfin and I do respect yours. I just think yes against Barnsley MP could have made a mistake or two or did Barnsley get an absolute rollicking at half time and second half went up the gears ? As I say it’s just opinions

As I say it’s just opinions Absolutely. But he didn't need to change the formation when they equalised. It was going alright. As Rhys said at the time, he sh*t himself. There was no need.

Is probably is too late now for a new manager to save us, but at the same time let's at least try? Even if someone else from within the club.
I think we know Warnock is likely out of our reach, but someone of that ilk for a couple of games just to try and give us some sort of confidence & bounce has to be worth a shot? Ian Holloway is out of work... £50k bonus if you keep us up?
As others have said I do feel for MP, in terms of the squad being weak, probably the worst squad I've seen since I started watching in 2001, but unfortunately his lack of managerial knowhow has made us even worse.

I'd like to know who's doing what behind the scenes? 3 people in the mix, MP, Mills and Dryer, too many cooks spoil the broth? MP is the voice piece, he talks the talk, protects his players, but I do wonder how much he's actually doing? Hindsight is a great thing, but when Dino went, his assistant should have gone too, and Ben should have gone for a more experienced man? We've ridden our luck, but it looks like it might be running out? But the fat lady ain't singing yet

Is probably is too late now for a new manager to save us, but at the same time let's at least try? In my (insanely) more positive moments, I remind myself we have four games left but two are against Cheltenham and Fleetwood. Six points for the taking, surely. Of course, I do not trust MP to get those six points for us but what about someone else? I can't be the only one thinking this?

In theory you'd have to say six points lay on the table with Cheltenham & Fleetwood left to play. But we've already had two very similar games against Carlisle & Vale and were easily second best in both.. again our own fault.
For some reason if you're a side on a huge losing run or having some sort of disaster at the club, it's always us you'd want to change that.

It’s all down to our senior players. Are they going to stand up and be counted ? We’ll see
