The last day of January so I thought the Jan transfer window must close today.... But no... It closes 11pm tomorrow 1st February... I bet that's for crossing the T's and dotting I's thing with the late, late deals. Well let’s hope we are involved in 2 or 3 of them.

I bet that's for crossing the T's and dotting I's thing with the late, late deals. I never understood that phrase; I have never written something using the letter t (uncrossed) or the letter i (undotted) and then gone back to the document in order to cross the t's and dot the i's. Surely that's not only a waste of time but arguably, takes more effort and time than just writing them correctly in the first place. Then again, I cant do "joined-up" writing.

It's a dying skill, joined up writing. I used to use it at school but have only printed for many years now. Apart from my signature and I hope there's some of those being added to contracts as we speak. (Did you see how I dragged it back on topic there!)

I think I'm safe in saying he's our biggest signing ever🤣🤣🤣 Remember seeing him play for Solihull Moors with little Joe Sbarra.

Quite a few heights in football are either off/wrong (John Brayford on the official site at 5 foot 8), or padded to make players look taller, but on this occasion, he really is 6 foot 9.

Who is Beryly Lubala? I have literally never heard of him. He doesn't exist.

So we're into the last day of the deadline.
I wonder what movement we may see, in and out?
I still think another midfielder would be a welcome addition. Ideally a box to box Tom Naylor/Jackson Irvine type.

I guess it has to be a permanent transfer given we have 6 loans already (although as Colston says, Seddon is missing 3 games now and Leko might be injured)
assuming Hamer and Hughes are not far away from fitness then yes, someone to play in midfield to improve us there is most likely

One rumour I've seen is us making Seddons loan deal a permanent deal. It would certainly help with the loan situation, and might even free up the opportunity of us squeezing one more in if we chose to (even though we'd still be one over the match squad limit).

I've head that Leko's season is over and he's returned to MK for treatment.

Another young forward has come in on loan.
19 year old Antwoine Hackford from Sheffield Utd.
It says its our final signing so that's our business complete.

Overall a decent window as far as I am concerned. The misfiring forwards have all been replaced by younger players, albeit untried but hopefully raring to go, and crucially we haven't lost Hughes or Powell. Yes they could go for free in the summer but that's the way it is for small clubs at our level. I'm sure we will try and offer them new contracts but if they go we will have had a decent stint from two players who will have helped massively to sustain us at this level. We'll just have to go and find two more! Creativity in midfield is an issue but maybe MP is thinking about Harper and Chauke who have barely featured this season and maybe they might get a run later this season. Who knows. Anyway, I don't think we can have too many complaints about January and we just need the new players to hit the ground running in February where we have 6 games that on paper we should be picking up a decent return of points from starting tomorrow.
