Some of the stuff written on here is baffling when only a few days ago everyone of you were singing his praises. And an unbelievable job he did for us, L2 Champions with 94pts and Top of L1 after 20 games. Of course we are disappointed but to think he would stay in L1 for long is naive....put yourself in his shoes for a minute. Of course he was showcasing himself here, do all managers not try to? And you are living in a one bed flat in Stapenhill when your family are 3 hours away. You are working for one of the smallest clubs in England for a small wage and a fanbase that never changed despite the success you brought to them. He ran the training session this morning at St. George's! And then a bigger club much closer to home with a bigger profile and fanbase offers you something you dreamt about, and your boss gives you his blessing! These opportunities don't popup every day. He has good friends Les Ferdinand and Trevor Sinclair down there and he certainly is not afraid of taking a risk.... I have been buzzing for the last 385 days, it's slowly fading but that's to do with me not Jimmy. I knew it would end one day so I enjoyed the ride. I thank him profusely for everything he did here and the happiness he gave me. I wish him the very best in whatever he does.
Ben will make another great decision on our manager. Up The Brewers!!

Or is this just a cut and paste from Facebook? There is plenty on there that is baffling.

Perhaps it's more about what is not being said/written Edit: and tbf, when I logged in prior to my post I didn't see your thread because the QPR one was at the top.

Other than your first sentence (which we have resolved) I broadly agree. The days at Morecambe and Cambridge are right up there and always will be. Thing is, you can be disappointed in his decision to leave (I'm not that disappointed really because I've had a couple of weeks to get used to the idea), but you never lose the memories. The journey continues, a different path but equally exciting, hopefully.

Cheers Jimmy, been a great 12 months. Good luck and send us a couple of players when we need them. Cambridge away last season was probably the highlight

Thanks jimmy and David. The memories and the points already gained will remain! Now lets see what Ben pulls out of the hat. We still have the same set of players and they will not let us down. COYB!

Looking back, it took 2 weeks to appoint JFH after Gaz left, wonder how long this is going to take? My betting is, he already has a very short list, maybe of one with one in reserve.

I would assume Mike Whitlow will take charge for the time being .

Yeah, Mike Whitlow could take the training sessions and fill in again while a successor is lined up I suppose. But I think someone will be in place before Gillingham. I don't know who people think will pay the wages for some of the names being mentioned, would Nigel come back at Jimmy's wages?? If he did I think it would be until end of season only but that is a big risk for him. It will be seen as failure if we don't make playoffs at least.
But just to show how daft the odds betting websites are, they have Whitlow at 4th in the running and he has repeatedly said he is not interested in management.

I agree about the wages - Nigel Pearson has been mentioned on Facebook, was probably on £2million plus at leicester.
I wonder if Clough is the man and I agree - to the end of the season may be an arrangement because
a) If we did get promoted, the massive increase in TV money would allow his salary to be covered (and his staff?) b) Or as I have wondered before he may be looking to invest in the club as well?
