Hoping Newcastle underestimate us and favour their big game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Gayle is just back from injury so two in a few days may be tough for him. Hopefully.
Though we've fired the warning shot to them... So maybe they'll come out all guns blazing.
A win here would be ludicrous. A draw would be ludicrous. A loss would be acceptable, as long as there's passion and effort from the lads of course. Which I have no doubt there will be.

Perhaps if we had played them at the start of the season we might have been a bit in awe, but actually now i think the size of the ground / number of fans is less relevant, honestly. We have often played in the big stadiums this season and in addition, the players who have come into the squad recently are not green youths but experienced players. I don't know if I am allowed to say this, but the taunts of a fully fledged Georgie , hurled across St James' Park will be difficult enough to understand. too ..

It's interesting, Newcastle's performance at SJP hasn't been brilliant - for example in the past 3 games:
Draw with Bristol City - 2-2 Loss to Fulham - 1-3 Win vs Wigan - 2-1 (close...)
Will hopefully have a cup feel to it.
Imagine being Mousinho, McLaughlin, or Flanagan - they must be living in dreamland coming from League 2 to St. James' Park in such a short space of time.

Yes I guess so We played in front of 41k at Villa And 31k at Derby Good icebreakers for this weekend but I imagine 51k Newcastle fans aiming for promotion is going to be pretty loud and different There's an American sports film where a coach does a brilliant pre match team talk when faced with a similar situation for his team. Will try and find a link.

Might be a bit late, but if anyone is after Pub/food/Parking advice, I'm happy to help. Consensus is that we're pretty confident of picking up a win, but expect it to be a ground out win, rather than a spanking. Clark and Murphy's absence vindicates our spending in the summer with Hanley and Mitrovic more than capable of stepping into their shoes. Yedlin is a bigger miss, his lightning pace down the right really can make a difference against entrenched opposition. I'm anticipating Burton to be solid, not be that bothered about attacking and try to frustrate the crowd.
I'd expect us to play a slightly rotated side from the team that beat Wigan 2-1. Darlow Anita Hanley Lascelles Dummett Hayden Shelvey Ritchie Perez Atsu GayleYou seem to have swapped formations throughout the season, what do you reckon you'll go for up at St James'? Any player we should look out for (with a view to nicking on the cheap in the summer ) Whatever the result hope you have a good night.

I expect we will use a 3-5-2 formation, or more realistically a 5-3-2 set up. Three centre halves, two 'wing backs' who are also very defensive minded. I am expecting the following line up:
-----------------McLaughlin
----McFadzean --Moushino --Turner
Brayford ------------------------Flanagan
-----------------Murphy
----Irvine --------------------Christiansen
------------Sordell --- Woodrow
All subject to injury. I wouldn't be surprised if Kightly played instead of Sordell.

Bodega? Hoping for a chant from you guys of "You're supposed to be non-league".

We are sitting in the Black Bull in Boroughbridge at the moment, half way there... but thanks for the tip for later although I think that you will find that most Brewers do a bit of background research for real ale pubs!

Which entrance can we drive the big yellow bus through and which end do you prefer we didn't park it first? Hoping to score at least one past that ex red dog keeper of yours. I know from past matches he doesn't like being beat.

Not a bad turnout from our guys... Safe journey to everyone heading to St. James' Park tonight, including around 700 burtonalbionfc fans making the 343-mile round-trip. #NUFC
