Just waiting for the official statement from both parties. Hopefully a cash windfall will come our way in compensation ! Who would you like to see in the managers chair now ? I would be happy with the return of Nigel Clough if he is interested in the job but also interested to see who would apply this time, we are a very different and attractive prospect compared to previously.

Cloughie is the obvious choice at least for interim manager and possibly longer term?
I know he's not everyone's favourite but most of the names out of work at the moment are not that attractive or unlikely to consider us perhaps?
Worth seeing who applies though...we could be pleasantly surprised as it's a very attractive prospect to come to a club at the top of league one, which even Roy McFailure would struggle to get relegated from this point!

+1 for Clough here. Whether or not he will want to return to a previous club is anyones guess, good thing bad thing to do? We all know how astute Ben is at finding his man, for all we know this has been in the pipeline for a few weeks should Jimmy want to go. I think we will get Jimmy's day (the QPR announcement he is the manager)out the way then maybe next week Ben will reveal his intentions, or the new man to come in. It's a no brainer to me, but of course that's between Ben and whoever. If it's Clough, what about the team he had with him at previous clubs? it's a big team and they will want decent money having been at clubs who can pay more than us surely.

Saw the same West London journo who guaranteed 2 weeks ago that Jimmy was off also mention last night that Cloughie was all lined up to come back but they've hit a snag.

Come on Chairman, I am sure your busy today, but take a few minutes and let your customers who pay good money week after week know who has gone with JFH. For the future I accept you can't say anything till is done.

Had a look on the Chesterfield forum, they really don't want our Nigel there. Quite a few on Burton Albion's Facebook page don't want Clough… i have to say I would be delighted for the following reasons: 1. He knows the club, knows how we work and understands the project. 2. He has proven experience at this and a higher level. 3. He won't be off in a heartbeat if he has a bit of success. 4. His teams play decent football. 5. He is a club legend.

100% in agreement funky, I'm not sure how long some of those commenting on there have been watching the Brewers but feel their views maybe are based on what they have picked up from sheep and Blades fans. Personally I think he did a great job at both clubs before being jettisoned shoddily and certainly Nigel thinks that.

Cloughie is my choice. The job he did at Derby was exactly what he was brought in for,; Cut the wage bill. Reduce the squad numbers. keep them in the championship. Recruit better players at sensible wages. When that was all achieved he was S..T on by the board.
He built the squad at Sheffield United up to the level needed to get into the playoffs. They didn't make promotion due to severe injury to the core of the team, from goalkeeper, central defenders, central midfielders, and central striker. The board panicked and fired him and look at the team now, struggling mid table and coming to the Albion and defended for ninety minutes and lost the game. Come on Nigel we will welcome you when you come HOME. You were disappointed when the blades board wouldn't invest on a top quality academy, we have a top quality youth set up with youngsters ready to be developed into the first team squad, something JHF neglected. Come on Nige you know it's the right move

On a more serious note. Young Nigel is now 1/10 with the bookies.

Bet his teams kick the ball into the corner from every kick-off though? So did JFH's Correct. Just wondering why the love letter I replied to didn't mention it. It sure as hell wound him up at the time. Neither of my posts are entirely serious lol.
