I think I've read somewhere today that in last 20 years Burton have only ever sacked one manager That's an incredible stat if it's correct? Wouldn't it be 2? John Barton in 1998 and Pesch in 2012?

JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink has told SportMail he will be a Burton Albion fan for life. The Dutchman's 13-month tenure at the Pirelli Stadium ended on Friday as he signed a rolling contract to become manager of Championship side Queen's Park Rangers. After weeks of speculation and reports linking him to the vacancy at Loftus Road, Hasselbaink and assistant manager David Oldfield wfinally left for West London having led the Brewers to the top of League One. In addition to winning the League Two title at the end of their first season, Hasselbaink and Oldfield ensured that Albion took to League One football like ducks to water. Hasselbaink, preparing for his new side's first game under his charge at home to promotion-chasing Burnley on Saturday, took the time to speak to SportMail to offer a final goodbye. "I just want to say thank you to everybody for an incredible year," said Hasselbaink. "The support of the fans has been fantastic. The chairman has been very supportive and the players have been incredible. "This was an opportunity that I had to take but I will be a Burton Albion fan for the rest of my life." Oldfield, similarly, wanted to thank everyone at the club for what he described as an "incredible year". "I've always talked about the importance of the group and so I just want to say thank you to all at Burton Albion," said Oldfield. "The staff, the incredible fans and of course the players, who have worked so hard for us and made it an incredible year at Burton Albion."
