Yeah will probably be that. Although, it is interesting that the decision has been made now, even though Mickleover can be promoted in the play-offs. Surprised he wouldn't stay if they were promoted after such a long time in charge.

The longer this drags on the more likely it is he'll be staying. I was hoping for an announcement this morning of a parting of the ways so we can focus on bringing in a new manager, but nothing yet. Everything is pointing to Ben keeping him around, which I feel is another in an ever lengthening list of mistakes in the last few years.
Fingers crossed. 🤞 Would certainly bring the fanbase a little flicker of hope & positivity.

Solihull Moors have money. Land Rover want there stadium. So that might not be so good. Burton Albion we need manager who thinks it's a treat to have a steak night at Wethers, holidays in a caravan at Barmouth, and keeps looking for loose coins in the sofa. That's me. Anyone else's CV matches the description above I will put your name forward to Mr Robinson. If you are put off because you think you are under qualified, you will only need the players boot the ball to the right or down the middle of the park. You will need to know your left from right, because we will require to change ends at half time. Good look.

I go along to matches with other people nine in total, all season ticket holders, only one has renewed. That’s quite a bit of money not being put back into the football club, because of the early bird closure date and Martin Paterson. The club can employ who they want,it is their prerogative and they should be allowed to employ whoever. It’s only my personal opinion but to me,it seams financial and commercial bad business. Let’s hope some common sense and reasoning,is in the boardroom in the next few days. Mr Paterson has lost the fans, not entirely his fault obviously we now know his hands were tied with loan signings. To lose 3-0 to Fleetwood was a diabolical result,Mr Paterson,Mr Brayford,Mr Robinson, the club just got lucky, due to the ineptitude of other clubs. Whoever is the new manager needs to be supported with some financial backing, because this is League One and four seasons of rubbish football needs to be addressed!

Quick question - has anyone heard anything anywhere about new investors? I've seen a few comments on twitter about a Norwegian group but there wasn't actually any real evidence behind it. If it is true, it will be a while until we know who our manager is next season and then obviously the contract renewals will be way later too.

Martin Paterson should go BUT... He might be able to stay if Michael Duff joined him.... 😉

I've seen things and heard a few whispers myself but nothing of any substance. I'd be happy with investment but very surprised if it happened. As for Duff, he'd obviously be a very good appointment on paper, but I get the feeling he'd be setting his sights higher. Huddersfield, Birmingham and possibly Sheffield Wednesday could be on the lookout for a new manager soon.

I mentioned that there were rumours of a possible sale in the offing, circulating approx 2 months ago - that was the Norwegian consortium I believe. Shortly afterwards at the Cheltenham Gold Cup race day in the Albion Suite, Gary Newbon apologised for Ben’s absence and that ‘He’d been called away on business.’ At the Reading game, once again there were people saying that the club ‘had been sold’. I am not sure whether or not there is truth in it. Personally I think it would give us new momentum.

Thinking about it, it would explain. 1) The sudden concern about budgets in November/December. 2) The clear out of bigger earners in January to maximise the sale price. 3) Martin Paterson’s short term deal.

I understand the shirt sponsor is also ending. All these clues. But like everything at our football club we will be told when it is done.

....and of course the other critical thing in terms of a sale price would be what division we are in. If there is a deal then presume it would be subject to us retaining our L1 status otherwise price would surely be less if we are in the league below or maybe even deal off full stop.
I know somebody who works for one of the clubs main sponsers and he had heard that something was afoot in terms of a sale/investment. No smoke without fire as they say!!
I would be happy with this as it can't be great for an almost 80 year old to be trying to manage this on a day to day basis. He should go with his legacy intact and enjoy his retirement in my view.

Hugh Jackman was looking for a club. Norwich City was mentioned. Say if we could encourage Mr Jackman, and he said I would love the challenge but we must wear green shorts would that be a problem. I'm saying this because this could happen look at Bournemouth, Luton. They play in the Premier. Luton had to give up there white shirts. Cardiff played in red.

Forgot to mention my home town Tamworth. Drive around the egg you can see one of the stands with Bristol Street Motors in the biggest lettering possible. They are going to to be Tamworth main sponsors. I don't know how much money they have put in the club but let's say 2 million. Loose change in there back pocket. What colour do you think of with Bristol Street Motors? Probably not that much money they gave Tamworth. If it was would it be unreasonable to say next season you are playing in blue.

Anybody buying a club like ours would not just leave things exactly as they are in my view. What would be the point? There would have to be an element of speculating to accumulate i.e improve the ground with more seats etc. Have a concerted effort to get more through the gate and that will be a mixture of improved facilities, match day experience and better quality on the pitch. Would clearly need some investment but if it works it would hopefully pay for itself further down the line whilst clearly not putting the clubs future on the line in the process.

So say Bristol Street Motors was going to improve the stadium, promise the world. Would you be happy Burton Albion playing in all blue? You you know what I couldn't give a toss.

Annable that was the other issue I was trying to think of. Absolutely critical of course and Ben (if you remember) did say as much.

It's notable that Martin kept emphasising in the interview after the Fleetwood game that he came to Burton "On his own". I can't help thinking that this is suggestive that upon his appointment someone he was previously linked with was/is pencilled in to join him later. That someone presumably being Michael Duff.

Probably best we could get. Only one prepared to accept the deal?.
No money to replace experienced strikers No money for loans No money for new back room staff. Short-term contract. No promises for an extended contract however successful.
Will next season be much different?.
