"Steve Evans has left Stevenage for Rotherham" Can our win be anything to do with that, can we take the credit for him walking? Maybe we could donate OUR manager to Stevenage, bless 'em.

I’m actually quite sanguine about relegation to league two. If we can address the issues and assemble a decent squad ( and not sell everyone decent in January ) then it could be exciting. We need something to be positive about. Walsall, chesterfield, notts county, crewe away is something to look forward to. And possibly vale as well. I am actually fearful that Ben will leave MP in charge and we will go into a massive downward spiral. We could be about to fall back a long way down the pyramid.

When I said a few weeks ago you cannot polish a turd, someone said you can. He looked it up. My wife said you can put glitter on the top of a turd that might put a shine on it. How much glitter would you need to put a shine on that load of shit? That was me, I thought it was an excellent post 😆

And forest green fans too are on a downward trajectory.

Nothing to say really. What is there to say? If you go back to early December we were beaten by Stevenage at home. I think most would agree that that day we looked a side destined for relegation. We offered nothing, there was trouble in the camp, key players wanted out, the squad was weak in many areas, fans were fed up with the negative football and Maamria was rightly sacked. I have to say I don't feel the vitriol towards the players and MP that others do. Nothing was addressed in January and so nothing has changed. We let go a complete forward line of options and haven’t replaced them. We were hopelessly weak in midfield and experience and that wasn’t addressed. I look at the squad and try to come up with a positive 442 or 433 and I just don't see the personnel on the books. We're just not good enough. I struggle to find a midfield who want to get on the ball, dictate play, take the game to the opposition, create opportunities, play the forwards in. I can't put a front three together with players who have pace, run the channels, win the ball in the air, hold the ball up and importantly score goals. We just don't have them. We are a poor side. If you play enough games the “law of averages” says you're bound to win a few and I'm afraid that is what we are relying on the “law of bloody averages” We got a result on Saturday off Marc Helm’s shoulder, we need another from somewhere. As for last night. As far as I can see players were giving it their all but if you're not good enough and the other team are better than you then we are where we are. Cheltenham were better than us. Fair play to them. Last night. Well I know people on here have been clamouring for Powell to play forward but for me if you take him out of that central midfield role we don’t have a single player in there capable of getting on the ball, keeping it and playing those simple passes forward. Steve Seddon would be my first choice left back. Other than that I wanted to go home! Pretty much everything I’ve been trying to say over the last month or so. We’ve been bloody awful all season.

He has been other rated giving the ball away, his reading of game, over hit passes, over hit corners. Shocking from our most experienced player. Oshilaja as a defender he's useless. In the middle of the park that's where put him. Where he wins the ball and becomes our best creative midfielder with a attacking attitude. Tell me who else can control that the most important area of the park. Simple.

Deji to me looks confused and a player devoid of confidence.

Deji is a Poundland Lucas Akins, can play in all positions, but none of them very successfully.
Clearly couldn't find another club for the life of him last summer, and us being the idiots we are held out for him.
In the past he's made up for his uselessness with effort and getting stuck in but even that has disappeared now. The sooner he's on the released list in the summer the better.

Having watched the goals back on Tuesday Deji was at fault for one of the goals however I agree he always puts a shift in and if played in his more suited position I would start him on Saturday. Powell had a poor game on Tuesday looking very sluggish in possession. He hasn’t got any pace at all and being one of our more rated senior players should be putting more into games. Deji is know master creator on the pitch but I’ve got to agree as I can’t see where Joe makes any contribution in terms of creativity at all especially in recent games. Going on Tuesdays game Helm looked more up for the game than Powell and definitely tried to creare an opening. Just don’t think having both Powell and Helm on together works as Powell doesn’t get to the ball enough…..
