2nd in League Two. Joint top scorers in the league. Put 5 past Accrington. Tough tie.

Our closest local derby other than the Sheep. A proper Staffordshire derby too. Can't complain about that. They will bring plenty and should be a good atmosphere. Significant to me with my Stoke back ground. Looking forward to a good cup tie with a place in round 3 at stake. We can beat them.

I wonder if we will be likely candidates to be moved for TV coverage.
There were at least 5 games shown live in the 1st Round and you would expect Buxton v Morecambe and Gateshead/Altrincham v Charlton to be chosen. After that there's not many stand out games for potential giant killers so a localish Derby game could appeal to the TV companies.
If we are on hopefully its not the Sunday evening game.

No chance this is on the box. League 1 at home not the other way round. It’s not a glamour tie. One we can win, and just as easily lose.

Proper Saturday. Proper kick off time. Packed away end. 3rd round beckons. Can't wait.

I’d imagine Jimmy really won’t want to play on the Sunday as we’ve got Wycombe away just over 48 hours later. Will Staffs Police want over 1600 Vale fans descending on Burton on a Saturday afternoon? Looks like we’ve only played them twice on a Saturday in the past. As much as I’d love this to be a traditional Saturday 3pm KO I could see it getting moved to the Friday night regardless of whether it’s on tv or not.
Just had a look at that article. It mentions their away record. Had a look at their results & they lost to Northampton on the first day of the season but since then have only been behind for a total of 6 mins on the road. They shipped 4 last time out in a defeat to Sutton United though only losing in injury time after being 2-0 and 3-2 up.
This will be the end of a run of 4 home games in 3 weeks for us. Excellent chance to start getting some momentum in the league and also get in the hat for the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Really looking forward to the next month!

Port Vale forum seems to be suggesting they've sold 1400 tickets ish already
hopefully we'll get the usual hardcore of 2000 coming along.
maybe we'll get to 4000 overall attendance seeings as our form has picked up a bit, weather should be a bit better this coming weekend and good value pricing?

At that price it should be 4,500-5.000. Local game, fa cup, and cheap tickets No excuses at all.

I get the feeling that there’s going to be more away fans than our lot there on Saturday and it wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened against Port Vale at home. I really hope I’m wrong.

You would hope that as a minimum the 1800 -2000 of our fans that went to the last two games would attend plus a few hundred more just because it's a cup tie with a bit of local interest. Clearly we haven't sold many tickets as yet and hence Ben making an announcement/plea on the website. We've been here before and that was against Leicester!
