On hearing that League 1 could not reach a decision yesterday I have to wonder whether a vote was held. I assume it was, on the motion, as in League 2, as to whether the season should be ended on a weighted points per game outcome with the play offs still to be held. We are told that only 6 clubs wanted the season to continue. A motion tabled needs a 70% majority to be passed. If 17 of the 23 clubs voted for it that target would be met. Wycombe Wanderers are not part of the "Dissident 6" yet have just as much to gain, or lose, as them, being level on points with 2 of that group with a game in hand. If they had voted against such a motion to end the season then the 70% majority needed would have been missed by half a %. I have to wonder if that is what happened yesterday? Go on then...I'll ask the stupid question: When they have their next meeting (Monday) what happens if a decision can't be made and agreed on? You would assume that the EFL will have to make a decision using the 6 to 17 vote. Surely (I am SOOOOO naive) the EFL will go with the 17? Having said that, what about the integrity of the game? And also raising the spirits of the supporters? It's a tough one when you're so crap at making sensible decisions. Colston, I could never do your job. I'd be sacked on my first day...

Following Andy Holt on Twitter, I expect they will go with confirming top 2, extended play off and no relegation.

Watched a Bundasliga game for all of 5 mins yesterday. Will wait with interest to see the fallout of that, expecting so and so has now got the virus reports. Already some manager has breached the strict rules buy leaving the group to buy toiletries.🤔

League One meeting which was meant to happen on Monday got postponed. Originally rescheduled for yesterday but that didn’t happen. Now expected to be “at some point next week”

Bolton need that 12 points deduction applying whenever we get a full season underway again. It's got to work like that or they have remained unpunished.

The EFL say season will be played out if 12 of 23 L1 clubs want it... (are there 6 more clubs willing to join the declared 6?)
Oh and if ended now there will be unweighted points per game distribuion to decide places, promotion and relegation in all 3 divisions.... Play offs for 4 teams only.... In L1 Wycombe, Oxford, Pompey and Fleetwood (Posh & Sunderland miss out)

All along I've seen this coming, L1, L2 cancelled the rest of the season but talk of playoffs. Premiership and championship play out the reminder of the season behind closed doors. Derby have announced they are back in training next week in readiness for it and subject to testings being negative.
So the big money clubs want this, doesn't matter about the lower leagues. I'm not fussed, it can all wait until the new season starts proper again.
Heard a snippet about TV coverage, some of it I believe will be free to air, the finer details will need to be ironed out re rights etc...again the big money clubs need to be satisfied and of course contract rights.

www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000jdxfBen was on Radio 5 a couple of days ago. His bit starts at about 13 minutes in and it last about 24 minutes. The whole hour is worth a listen to be honest. If we play on then it costs us around £300k with nothing coming in. If we void/end the season then each club owes Sky £100k back. He says he was also speaking to the CEO of a League One club the other day and if his players aren't prepared to take a 50% pay cut then they'll go bust. This is a club who've got no debt and always break even or make a small profit. He mentions he'd rather the money we'd all spend on playing the season out goes instead on helping the 1400 players who will be out of contract and unemployed come the end of July. The salary cap proposed is not actually a salary cap either. It's a limit on first team spend. There's also a bit on Nigel leaving. Some good stuff in there and a bit of an eye opener on how the EFL have been conducting these meetings and proposals.

www.efl.com/news/2020/may/efl-statement-board-update/They had a meeting on Wednesday. They’ve agreed to meet again on June 8th. I read the statement in that link but I’m at the point now where if I read it once and don’t get what they’re blathering on about then I lose interest.

I drifted off after the first paragraph.
If they leave it much longer, it'll have to be a five-a-side league.

The Rams page, well Facebook has started a whole lot of moans about "what about my season ticket money back?" or "hope the matches are free to air"
Some say but they can't afford to give you your money back....bah! Mel Morris is a good deal richer and then some than our Ben, pay up Mel!

I was in Morrisons last week and i saw a lad who had been going to the Albion for a number of years and one of the first questions he asked me was if we would get our money back if the season is cancelled.
My reply was if Ben acts like the gentleman he is something will be sorted so fans don't lose out.
I in the position i am with my personal finance am not fussed but we must never forget a lot of folk can't afford to lose out and could probably need the cash for other more important items. If Mel Morris doesn't refund the sheep then that is a disgrace going on his wealth.

As above really whatever Ben decides I'll go along with but I'm not fussed over refunds.

If a decision is made on Tuesday (if....should...) I wonder if Peterborough will then put forward a proposal that the team in 6th place should get promoted automatically to the Championship, just for the integrity of the game. Just a hunch. I've not looked who's in sixth place yet but if they can get enough other teams on board....
Colston, I love the way you belittle them by saying they're not all that.

As usual, mate, I stuck to facts MacAnthony has been gobbing off again. He's now prepared to fly back from LA and quarantine himself for 14 days just so he can be magnanimous enough to help the EFL restore their reputation. "Stop all this voting nonsense and lead!" he says. So he is now advocating that they dictate to his club rather than engage in democracy? You couldn't make it up! www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/peterborough-united/peterborough-united-chairmans-blueprint-restore-efls-reputation-and-hes-willing-back-his-words-action-2877939
