Well, Burton are back at home this weekend. It's felt like an eternity since the last home game.
We've never played Colchester before (per the Internet).
They're a team in trouble, and have an away record of 2w/1d/7l so this really is a must win for us.
Their games always seem to have LOADS of goals. Some highlights: 4-4 home to Walsall, 4-1 away to Millwall, 5-0 away to Wigan, 4-2 away to Shrewsbury.
Could this be the game that the ketchup bottle explodes?!

It could be, let's hope. and it's the first home game I will miss this season. COYB!!

So, I've just done some (what I find) interesting analysis:
Colchester have had 73 goals in their games, an average of 3.8 goals per game. The joint highest in the league with Peterborough. Burton have the lowest, 31 goals in their games, an average of 1.7 goals per game. 8 lower than the nearest (Bradford).
Also, Colchester have conceded the most goals (44), vs our (17).

Is Norah OK, hopefully just on holiday but no online presence for three weeks... often starts these game threads, good job standing in elkhayatiisgod.

Haven't seen Norah for ages either.
No worries - Like to discuss the upcoming games!

I predict the ketchup will go for a Burton along with Colchester. Brewers 2 - 0 Colchester. Timmy and Nasser with the goals.

I can confirm a sighting of Norah at Bury in her winter plumage. Definitely the most unexpected word I've encountered today or indeed throughout 2015, have to admit I had to Google it but now I'm aware I will definitely be reusing it! Glad Norah's ok, hope she's enjoying a well earned break!

Burton have played Colchester once before. FA Cup 4th qualifying round in 1991 in one of Colchester's years in the Conference. We were awful and lost 5-0 away at Layer Road.
I also saw Norah at Wigan on Tuesday so still around.
On paper a game we should win but then again football is not played on paper. The change in manager could go one of two ways but they have the worst defensive record in the whole league.
Big week coming up. Two good results and we could be very handily placed after 20 games.

Yes I was at Layer Road for that 5-0 humbling, a bit like the 5-0 at Wigan, we were lucky to get nowt ! Norah was definitely at Bury, I saw here there. Onto tomorrow, hard to predict what sort of Colchester side may turn up, we will have to be at our professional best I would say because they definitely have goals in them. cbh1 is quite right, we have a big week coming up with 2 home games, 2 good results and we will be in a brilliant position. One game at a time though, i'll happily take two 1-0's but would be nice to see us stick a few in the onion bag, any victories will do nicely.

I prefer it when we're 4/1 (like Wigan) haha.
Not sure what the score will be.

It's never normally a good thing when a struggling team sacks their manager and you have to play them next
It will normally regalvanise the team
Let's hope we can still beat them though

They haven't got a manager for today so we should, really win. If they had a new one then I'd be more worried.

They've got Richard Hall (asst mgr) and John McGreal (youth development mgr) jointly in charge today
Their chairman says he expects to appoint new manager from within the club
So effectively those pair have a few games to show they should get the job between them
They've got the equivalent of new manager bounce regardless of whether they've made a permanent appointment
I think we need to start fast and start well
If we can get ahead early it could dampen any new found enthusiasm their players may have for the job

They haven't got a manager for today so we should, really win. If they had a new one then I'd be more worried. Trouble is.......I think I read that the chairman is looking to appoint the new manager "from within" which most likely means....the guy, or one of them, in charge for today's game.......which means those in charge today will be trying extra hard to get a result and justifies the chairman's thinking......how they go depends I guess to a large extent what support the stand-in/step-up management gets from their current players...... .......but also affecting the result of course will be how well we play............irrespective of what's happening at Colchester......it should be time for our guys to fill their boots given Colchester's poor defensive record....44 goals agains, one win in nine......should be...... Edit.........Ah .....I see you've made the same point observer, while I was putting my post together.....
