Oh boy! Read my post, you totally missed the point. Sorry if I am being thick but you will have to explain then because I totally don't get your meaning ? well swaddy I'm not sure that an attempt at explaining my meaning will be successful but I'll have a go. My point was that we are being told more and more what we can and can't say on here. And my comment "The way this thread is going we won't be able to say anything" has come to the fore with todays 'censored.word' intrusion. Personally I think it (the control over what is allowed) has gone astray. Though I do appreciate the reasons for some control and I respect that a moderators task is not an easy one. With respect to your opinion on mentioning attendance figures. I understand where you are coming from and I agree that BAFC is an exceptionally well run club that we should all be, and are, very proud of. On the flipside I don't see a problem with it being discussed especially since a half dozen or so posters have mentioned it in this thread, as did TV and Radio stations. Discussions have taken place on this topic before and lead so a few reasonable suggestions from posters....I cannot recall them all but I think some executive seating, free tickets for media/scouts/dignataries had been mentioned as 'possibilities'. Perhaps the turstiles do not 'tickover' precisely every time someone passes through. With the new online ticket system it is also possible that all wrinkles have not been ironed out of it yet?? But the numbers announced have to come from somewhere, somehow they are tabulated and handed to the announcer. People thinking that the announced number looks off does not necessarily imply that they think the club are doing something intentionally wrong, it could be that all systems are not quite in sync.?

If it's worth anything, my opinion is that the gate announced looked about right to me?
Loads of seats in the away section, two big blocks taken up by Sky camera points, accounting for around 150 to 250 standing, plenty of spare capacity on the popside and the home end, so could easily see how you could get another 2000 to 2500?
Simply my observation based on experience of games against Man U etc.

Well o.k, thanks for the explanation although your 1st line seemed a little patronising, I must point out though that I never mentioned a new law and didn't say people could not discuss disappointing attendances. I really don't understand why people would doubt the attendance announced especially from someone who did not attend, it looked about right to me and I have never thought any different.

That first line thought did cross my mind after posting. What I intended was that like in the first post what I wrote may be misunderstood by some. It was definitely not meant in any mean sense.... You are right you did not mention the other two things, I did, in regard to the question of censorship. Again no finger pointing, or whatever. Just a comment.

Simply my observation based on experience of games against Man U etc. Agreed. I was disappointed when I looked around and predicted less than 5000 there. I was bang on half way on the popside which can usually get quite cosy even with a small league crowd but there was plenty of room around and thats even with the section unavailable due to sky. Popside was easily less than half full in my opinion. Enjoyed the game personally. Thought a draw would've been a fairer result. Was furious at the 2nd Cov goal because I got a text from a Cov supporting mate who was in the seats directly in line with it and he said it was definitely offside. Good job he's not a linesman! Very tight call but hes just about level with the ball so officials got it right. Shame our finishing let us down a bit and we couldn't take advantage of one of the several spills from their very dodgy keeper. Difference between the 2 sides, their keeper makes 5 or 6 mistakes and we don't take advantage. Mclaughlin makes one and they score from it. Considering we more than matched them and some Cov fans watching at home (who haven't been to games this season admittedly) said it was the best they had seen Cov play for years, I think we will do more than ok this season. Top 10 is definitely a possibility.

You clearly don't understand the offside rule, I believe someone has cleared it up for you on the previous page. Its not an obscure rule, I thought it was fairly well known tbh. You clearly don't read posts before making daft statements. My first comment about offside was responding to a statement that a player cannot be offside if he is level with his teammate when the ball is crossed. My reply was basically that "A player cannot be onside simply because he is level with his own teammate when a ball is crossed. There has to be 2 defenders between both of them and the goal when the ball is crossed otherwise they are both offside." And I cleared it up for myself with this post on the previous page. "From this vid it seems the refs got it spot on... Cov goal.mp4 (828.58 KB) Read more: burtonbrewers.proboards.com/thread/2011/coventry-home?page=6#ixzz3l6GWxAIp" And it's not a rule, it's a law... Yep the referee got it absolutely spot on, the guy who you responded to initially was also spot on as well as he was making the point that the goalscorer couldn't be offside as he was level with the football when Aaron Martin played it, maybe you just misunderstood what he was saying.

It definitely wasn't the best we've played for years. Wigan and Millwall we played far better. I thought both teams were quite poor in my opinion - just we had the more experienced players to win the game.

" repeat repeat . Lol Good luck to Ccfc . I'm truly glad that things are looking brighter for you than they did this time last year. You have an experienced boss in TM , I'm sure you're gonna do well

Good evening, Brewer's fans: another Sky Blue in here.
I wanted to post a few quick points about Sunday's game:
1) I felt we were lucky to leave with three points: a draw was deserved. Your Duffy is a great player, why he was subbed is beyond me. Scared the shite out of our defense.
2) Couldn't be more impressed with your stewards: they moved us from standing to seats as my 6-year old daughter was looking a big pressed. Polite, thoughtful, on the ball: that BIg Paul bloke did you proud. I wish our lads were as erudite and thoughtful.
3) Aside from this weekend, genuinely wish you all the best: it was refreshing to natter to genuine football fans around the game who understand what it's like to support a team outside the Big Boys.
Let's hope you're as taken with us as we were with you.

Good shout frishnit, Although the league games that I've watched this season all had an element of "step up" about them, Sunday represented us properly arriving at a higher level in my opinion. Fair play to Sky Blues (reds) as I reckon they just about shaded it. The fact that their second goal was shown to be legitimate only goes to confirm that we wasn't robbed. League games against fairly recent FA cup winners hailing from one club cities with populations of over 300'000 is a decent state of affairs if you ask me. One that must be savoured (apart from the narrow defeat bit)! It would have been great to top the table and narrow the gap on the shams to 5 league places but the main thing is to get a good strong toe hold in our own division and get as established as possible. We've made an excellent start, let's all do our bit to keep the ball rolling in the right direction. Onwards and upwards mighty Brewers!
