I would like to add my name to the list of Nasser admirers. He has excellent first touch skills, lots of confidence, is willing to try the killer pass, and deserves his starts as far as I'm concerned. His admitted weakness is in closing down and defending, which we all know in the modern game all players have to do. He will improve at this, but he more than compensates with the skills he brings to the team. I hope he gains a decent contract for the next couple of seasons.

I would like to add my name to the list of Nasser admirers too. We have been lacking this kind of opportunist goal scorer for a long time. Given the right opportunities and service he could end the season incredibly as top goalscorer. And to those on the pop side who were on his back from the moment he came on against Southend, shame on you.

The lad looks really promising, nice touches / ball control and is prepared to take on players. Also without the ball he put a good shift in at Tranmere sharing the load with Beavon chasing down the defenders. Hopefully he keeps it up and earns himself a contract for next year, likewise with Naylor.

He's turning into a popular player and rightly so. He's brought a lot to the team in the past few games and is starting to fill the sizable void left by Blyth who we have undoubtedly missed since he got injured. The ineviatble problem that awaits Hasselbaink now is what do you do when Blyth gets fit again? We know Hasselbaink likes Blyth and him and Beavon compliment each other but Nasser brings a totally different dimension to the team and as Frank says we've been lacking this type of goalscorer for a while now. Could all three fit into the same team? Beavon and Blyth do the hard yards and Nasser picks up the pieces? Or is he best as an impact player as Johnno mentioned, something I kind of still see him as if I'm being honest. Having him ready to unleash against tiring defenders is quite an ace to have up your sleeve.

Good post Spence. He is obviously a good sub to bring on against a tiring defence, but I think he can produce moments of magic any time during the 90 minutes. Although his style is totally different to Jacques Maghoma, (he likes to use a one touch quick pass more than Mags did for instance), but he generates the same excitement when he is on the ball. I think he could become a major asset to us. Get him signed for at least 2 seasons is my feeling.

I find it quite baffling that more people have not given Nasser a shout for getting this recognition...?

From my point of view these team of the week things aren't really worth getting excited about We all know that he's doing well for us at the moment but everyone at the club is only as good as their last game anyway We've got numerous players contributing as much if not more Happy to say well done Nasser but would rather say well done to all of them if they get promoted

He's a good young player with a bit of flair and an eye for goal. He's also full of confidence currently and playing in a good team (especially alongside Beavon). I hope he maintains that and becomes an Albion legend, but a long way to go to that yet. Very pleased for him.

Unless someone has been to all the games (impossible) or sat through DVDs of goodness knows how many games, it is just a question of picking some eye-catching names out of the papers and putting them into a formation...

Fully agree. It is an almost meaningless excercise by the media, that is used to fill newspapers with something mildly interesting. That is all.

Nasser is progressing well, one thing for sure is that he brings something different to the table, he would seem to have a great attitude and where the onion bag is !

How is any recognition reached objectively? And yes it is a team game but even players recognise each other's strong run of games, it's a nice touch. No one can see all games that every team play but they still give awards out, some are more exciting than others somehow? burtonbrewers.proboards.com/thread/1297/august-manager-month

Last night our team put in an overall very good performance, but Nasser still shone out as the outstanding talent on the pitch. I do hope Jimmy has got the bases covered to keep him, and stop him being nicked from us in the summer. There must have been many scouts and clubs watching last night on the box.
