I would have thought Pescisolido would have been a good example of a half decent Canadian player.

Yeah, after Hargreaves Pesch is probably the best of the bunch, or perhaps Jonathan de Guzman. There are others too, Iain Hume, Carlo Corazzin..

And who could imagine Owen Hargreaves ever playing in this special league! (Surely he wasn't the player voted by the ENGLAND fans as the Player of the Tournament for ENGLAND In the 2006 World Cup - WHAT? ?? A CANADIAN?? .Player of the World Cup for ENGLAND!!!!!!). Yes but because his fellow players didn't vote him player of the tournament it didn't mean anything!!!

This is a concern for me , bringing in players from the continent , can they adapt to League 2 ? It's a different style of football to what they are used too . Maynard has not impressed so far , Malatic has disappeared , where was he Saturday and Monday (Reserves). I hope they turn out to be brilliant players and this other lad if he is signing . Yeah, imagine if we brought in some Canadian football players like the likes of David Edgar – Newcastle United, Burnley – 2006–10 Craig Forrest – Ipswich Town, Chelsea, West Ham United – 1992–95, 1996–2001 Junior Hoilett – Blackburn Rovers, Queens Park Rangers – 2009–13, 2014– Simeon Jackson – Norwich City – 2011–13[Note 11] Tomasz Radzinski – Everton, Fulham – 2001–07[Note 12] Paul Stalteri – Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham – 2005–08 Frank Yallop – Ipswich Town – 1 And who could imagine Owen Hargreaves ever playing in this special league! (Surely he wasn't the player voted by the ENGLAND fans as the Player of the Tournament for ENGLAND In the 2006 World Cup - WHAT? ?? A CANADIAN?? .Player of the World Cup for ENGLAND!!!!!!). OMG These foreigners are absolutely useless! And forgetting Pesch was Freudian in the extreme...

Pamela Anderson is Canadian, perhaps we should sign her. It might put the Chesterfield goalie off if we play them.

I've always admired Pamela Anderson. Tremendous breasts.
She was a goalie herself in her younger days, y'know. If you came anywhere near her box she'd go spare.

I remember Billy Kee making his debut for us as a sub 10 minutes from time at Accrington. Immediately after the game one of our fans (admittedly not renown as the brightest light on the tree), immediately wrote him off as a useless player we shouldn't have signed, Peacock is doing the same thing before our new player has even stepped on to the pitch. This is based on the sound logic that he comes from a foreign country where they play differently. This is of course true, and they are pretty good at often beating us at the game we gave to the world.

Yes, I wish the lad well and hope, after getting into game shape and moulding into the team style, that he can help us improve our GD even more than the +10 Jimmy has managed to get the team to achieve so far. In Jimmy we trust!
But Pammys rack is like Arnold's, pumped up, so never was much attacked to those. My point earlier, which seems to have eluded folk, is that "my opinion" is that it is ludicrous to question "continental" players ability to adapt to L2. Now I must admit that I assumed the point being made was in reference to "non-British" players coming in, otherwise why single out the continents style of play. They play a different style in NA, SA, Africa, Aus....as well as those countries that fall under the Europe minus GB cloak. I can think of loads of players who have succeeded.

We'll see how he goes, hopefully well. He sounds a versatile player (almost a Cloughy signing). Lots of overseas players have come to this country and done well and people remember their names. The ones that didn't don't get remembered (except possibly the unstoppable Serge Makofo).

Yes a big welcome to Nasser, I hope things go brilliantly for him with the Albion. It doesn't look like he will be the only one joining this week as Jimmy looks to tie up a deal on loan for the rest of the season for Ivan Calero. Exciting times for us Brewers ! I have absolutely no idea how Jimmy intends to integrate them into our approach but it must surely give us more attacking options. From what I have seen for most of the season that is the only area the squad is found wanting. Onwards and upwards. COME ON YOU BREEW-------EERRRS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just as an after thought, Jimmy was a great success at Atletico Madrid and a cult figure, I wonder if Calero was in the junior set up at the club in those days and if it influenced him coming to play for us.

I must say I am warming to Nasser , I certainly wasn't convinced on his first few showings , but he is certainly getting better these last couple of games . He had a very god game today , giving the Tranmere defence quite a few problems and of course finding the back of the net .

Funny the way different people see things. Commentators today said he was poor and not really involved compared to last Wednesday, and that he should be subbed off. Then about a minute or 2 later he scored what they called a brilliant first touch finish. Personally, I agree Superbrewer I like him. He is tricky, fast, not afraid to have a go and knows where the goal is. He has scored 3 important goals for us!

I thought he played well today, I assumed that once we went 2 up he was pulled back into a deeper position - more or less went with Bev on his own up front. However, after he went back closer to Bevs he looked much more useful. I agree he has looked more potent from the bench but he was creative and exciting all game. Great finish and once again as he celebrated he looked to give the credit to Akins (as he did post Wednesday night and Beavon). Liking the look of him.

Can't understand any negativity towards Nasser?
He's been excellent from day one, remembering the brilliant turn and pass to set up a winning goal on his debut and the three important goals he has scored do far in a very short period of time.
Yesterday's goal came at a time when were really up against it and swung the game back our way and as for Wednesday against Southend, well just watch the replay again and it turned one point into three, against a tough promotion rival.
I'd hate to defend against him; it's like trying to grab a bag of snakes...he turns defenders inside out!
Being slightly unfair to him, I like him as an impact player to come on when we need something different but the way he's playing at the moment, he deserves his place in the starting line up?
He also seems a very likeable lad, giving credit to his team mates and he looks as though he's really enjoying being a part of this squad.
