In the play-off places... Lost four games in Feb, then beat Blackpool 3 v 0 to get to Wembley in EFL Trophy, Cambridge 1 v 0 and Exeter 2 v 1. Home to the Cobblers tonight... spanked 'em... Posh 5 v 1 Northampton

A tough game is only going to be made tougher with Ross 'red card' Joyce in the middle. We got away without a red card at Carlisle earlier this season but he did book Tom Hamer for time wasting at a throw after 20 minutes but ignored Carlisle taking much longer at throws late in the game. I fear he will find his red again on Saturday.

I think we are going to need some help from him in the sky for the next two games🙈

There is no doubt that on paper this looks a very difficult task and if you start playing the facts over in your head then it's almost impossible to make a case for us doing nothing but lose heavily. Just off the top of my head.
1. They have scored 9 goals against us in the last two games we have played them in. 2. Ephron Mason-Clark ran Tom Hamer ragged in the home game last year. 3. We were both a goal down to Northampton after 20-25 minutes in recent home games. We huffed and puffed and conceded another and couldn't score ourselves. They scored 5 goals in 40 minutes to win the game last night. 4. We haven't scored for 3 games and have lost our last 3 at the Pirelli without scoring.
I'll stop there as i'm depressing myself!
However, Peterborough can blow hot and cold and at times have some real strange results. Last year they lost 3-0 at home to Cheltenham and then 4 days later looked like prime Barcelona and thrashed us 5-2. I guess the positive here is that they aren't brilliant all the time and hence only being 5th so we can cling to the hope that on Saturday they have one of those days and we nick one in the last minute! COYB!!

And absolutely thrillingly there are temporary lights this evening by the Monks Bridge pub. I'm glad I am away.

Any updates bennyboy, sinfin?! Nothing new, not been Burton way since Thursday. My advice, turn right at the Claymills slip road coming off the A38 (from Derby) and head back over and turn for Rolleston/Tutbury then turn left down Church Lane, signed Stretton. That's my alternative route to get to SSC and eventually Princess Way. Basically this below says the same as the council link above... www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4nd7vnjyydo.amp

Well this is rubbish... we can't seem to even put a decent set of passes together at the minute!
I know we're playing a team challenging for promotion, but we're at home and should be capable of a lot better. Doesn't help when the set up from kick off is so negative!
Edit: I should criticise more often... then we go and equalise! Haha!

With how awful we are lately a point would be a miracle so hopefully they can hold on.

They should be four or five up. We're miles off the pace and didn't deserve a point to begin with. It's unlikely to happen but I hope MP begins to reflect on his decisions instead of just repeating the same rubbish his three predecessors served up.

I honestly think you’re both wrong. I thought we played well and made a game of it against a very, very good side. We set up well to a plan to contain them and every one of our players were up for it and put a shift in. Well done Martin, that was a much improved showing and the score flattered Posh. We could easily have taken a point from a game I was genuinely fearful we could have lost 4 or 5 nil.

I just can't understand taking Powell off, I totally understand bringing Helm on, I totally agree Harper was man of the match, I just cannot understand going back to a back 5 once we equalised? It was an open game, I just wished once we equalised we'd have gone looking for 3 points, not looking to hold on to 1.

Bucking the trend again, folks. Sorry.
That's the best team I've seen at the Pirelli this season. Peterborough, that is. Very impressive. Every time they had the ball, they looked like scoring.
I thought we gave a good account of ourselves. A bit like bornandbrewed said above, Joe Powell lined up to take a free kick and I thought "Here we go; another mindless lob into the box" and then we hit the post. And then we go and score from a Tom Hamer long throw. Well I never.
My favourite moment of the match (apart from the goal) was when Ademola came on. First thing he did was flick the ball on.....to Joe Hugill. Just like I said he would/should. For me, THAT's the partnership to forge ahead with.
Of course, it was tough to lose. It's never fun. But I thought it was a good game with two teams going for it. We didn't roll over and die. It was end-to-end - it could've gone either way. I'm sure the Posh fans weren't confident of the three points until that third goal went in. It could've easily ended 2-2.
Doom and gloom? Nope. Not here.
Portsmouth on Tuesday - I don't think we'll get anything there either; they're top of the league.
COYB.

Posh are a side that gives you chances, but they are also a side you cannot sit back against, they have enough quality players to hurt you eventually. We should have gone on after equalising, not looking to hold on

After we hit the post and then scored, for a few minutes the momentum was with us and it just flashed across my mind we could win it. When you look what we were up against and a side where even Johnson Clark Harris can’t get a game, that would have been ridiculous - a football miracle.

Much better team won - simple as that. Burton players tried hard and made it difficult for Posh at times but ultimately they look like a potential Championship team and we are a potential League 2 team. Nobody’s fault - it is simply the way it is.
