Let’s hope Hearts have paid for Boyce upfront and we haven’t had the Irvine cock up all over again even though the fee was peanuts compared to what we should have got for Irvine. Peanuts is better than nothing I guess

We do seem to let good players go on the cheapish side. Because we are at the wrong end of footballs rich list we have to feed off the scraps.☹️

Hearts will be laughing at how cheap they managed to get him for if he has many more performances like that.

Mornin'chaps. Great game/atmosphere yesterday and Boycey did himself proud. Not sure if many watched the match down south, but was a huge relief for us Hearts fans that we're finally back on track and signing good players again after the debacle caused mainly by our previous coach. All the best for rest of the season, and should any of you "Brewskies" care to visit us and take in a game I have no doubt you'll be warmly welcomed. Here is a short video by a couple of visiting English chappies who enjoyed the day.....👍 youtu.be/wx12Y8eRf-4

Yeah watched the whole match, Hearts really came good second half. Boycie looked to be struggling with an injury just before he scored, they took another player off and he carried on. He's a tough character, hope he does well up in Scotland 👍

Thanks for the video nice to see Boyce has moved on to a lovely stadium with passionate fans , We had him gave him a a taste of the Championship and league 1, with a well run small family club, And now he has a big stage to display his talents. A great start hope they avoid relegation, and i shall like with all our quality players who move to bigger clubs follow their careers with interest

I watched the game also.
Liam Boyce only 10 days ago played at the Pirelli Stadium, in front of empty terraces, 2005 fans, against MK Dons.
Yesterday he played at the wonderful 20000 all seater, packed to the rafters, Tynecastle Park against Glasgow Rangers in a game probably shown across the World via different media.
A no brainer really.
I hope he does well. He gives everything. He played up front in a two with Naismith and I often wish he had been used like that for us; he seemed to have more room and space to play at his best.
I don’t know what we got for him. Rumours on Saturday varied between 150 and 250 with sell on clauses. Who knows?!

sounded like it's Akins, he is our Centre Forward and that's it! We definitely missed Boycey today, his hold up play in particular brings the best out of the likes of Fraser. After the radio interview, as he kept talking, he said he has a striker in mind and they'll see how that works out this week. That will go in tomorrow's paper and I'll pop it online at some point. Here's the story about Brewers still being in the market for a striker... www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/burton/clough-striker-mind-well-see-3780871

I've just watched the highlights and one thing struck me about his goal:
In the last season and a half in League One, he's never had THAT much time and space to get off a shot!!
Good on him. Hope he does well. Great assist for their first too.

I think the fans love him already. Great prediction from the wee lad outside who said 2-1 to Hearts Boyce and Naysmith!

According to "The Irish News" today, "if he had had his choice, Liam Boyce would have happily stayed at Burton" Am I alone in finding that somewhat difficult to believe.
Both that paper and Scottish ones report the fee as £150,000. Appreciate he only had 6 months left on his contract, but given his recent performances for Albion let alone his superb debut for Hearts, seems a snip to me!

I don’t believe he’d happily have stayed here. Ok Hearts may be propping up the league up there but I don’t believe for a second they’ll go down under Daniel Stendel. I think they’ll stay up and next season they’ll do well. Boyce will be pivotal in their resurgence, he’s on more money playing in a league he enjoys playing in and they get good home attendances. If you think Boyce was a snip for Hearts have a look at how much Swindon have paid for Eoin Doyle. 23 goals in 22 games on loan from Bradford there. Bradford recalled him, player wasn’t happy and pretty much forced the move permanently to Swindon. £90k he went for.

Boyce hits the net again today, so far his team lead 1-2.

I expect us to do something similar.Even on half pay Boyce is probably on more than he was here. Barnet have put all non playing staff on notice. Clubs will have to do whatever they can to survive. It may even result in some clubs resuming playing with a youth team. Meanwhile when the transfer window reopens expect Premiership clubs to lash out millions on new players.

This has been happening in industry for decades half pay and the likes so our footballers will have to take it on the chin after all they earn more money than many working men in industry.

I might be a touch out of order here so apologies on advance. It seems you're incredibly anti people in football making money. The reason they get paid so much at the top level is because they're at the top of their profession (allegedly) and the game at that level p's cash up the wall. Please don't confuse that level with us or even rh Scottish leagues. I paid 4 of my staff more a week than a hell of lot of our squad are paid and I worked in recruitment. A 50% pay cut at our level would be devastating. Boycie doesn't have much luck with the club's his agent puts him forward to. first Bolton, now this. Poor bugger must have thought he'd landed on his feet joining Hearts.

The package put together by the E_F_L hopefully will help clubs with cash flow problems, it seems every thing is aimed at finishing the season.

Boycie may have had to take a pay cut anyway if they got relegated. Who knows what's happening to finalise the season in all football now?
