After 5 league games the Gas have the same (won 2, lost 2 drawn 1, 7 points) record as us... Lost away to Blackpool (2 v 0) and Coventry (2 v 0), beat Oxford and Tranmere, drew with Wycombe at home.... A young Brighton side dominated possession and shots in EFL Cup tie last night but struggled to get the winner- Glenn Murray 92 minute I predict 2 v 0 win for the Brewers..

We should be confident.

We did OK vs these chaps last year but they were in a rough patch of form.
After a big win last night and a few goals I hope we take that confidence into the game and get the job done.
Sort out home form out and we'll be doing very well this season.

Bristol Rovers a club twice our size, got their own Stadium in 1998 they bought out the local Rugby club who played at the Memorial Stadium it holds 12000. The club have no players of note, Getting out of the Conference in 2015/16,now stable in league 1,average attendance last year over 8000 losing over £6500 a week. Won their last 2 games, and under the manager Graham Coughlan, and under him have had a resurgence, the club now look financially sound, and after the Brighton game, it is said they gave a performance that just keeps you coming back. It seems to me we are looking at 2 clubs hoping to make a impact on League 1 this season. Playing against a resolute team, once again our defence will have to deal with set plays and pacey forwards on the break, We are at home and we have the more experienced players. Will our home fortunes turn, going for 3 times lucky===A Home Win

Trevor. Please stop using the phrase "They have no players of note", on your otherwise readable previews. This actually means they have no significant players you are personally aware of. It can not mean they do not have some quality players, and our opponent supporters will and do take offence understandably.

If a club have players of transfer value,or played at the top level, for me they are the ones to look out for. Following your post i have asked 4 Forest fans,6 Derby fans, and 3 from Ilkeston town to name 1 Bristol Rovers player, and they all failed, I did miss one the goalkeeper who is a Finland international. And yes it is players i am personally aware of, Yes they can have players who have potential all clubs have, Do we take offence or care what other fans think of our team,do we care if they rate Fraser or not ,of coarse not. On Morecambe 5 of our posters thought Kevin Ellison was a player of note,a career spent in lower league football last 8 seasons at Morecambe now 40 years of age. A striker who is the second highest striker in league 2 .in my assessment, no transfer value==No international caps== No championship or premier league experience now 40 years of age, A player who has made a career out of football, in their opinion and criteria he was a player of note, But in mine he was not a threat to the Brewers. I do not and never will .take opponents likely, but some players stand out in their achievements, and when they do,they become players of note, My players to take notice of is my opinion. If you know others please inform the forum. This post was about the match against Bristol Rovers

Thanks for your reply Trevor, but I still see absolutely no reason for the comment you use. Otherwise I do enjoy your previews. As you appear to say, you can say what you think, and do so. So do I.

Tricky one. I've never felt Reece is quite ready and would be so much better for a season out on loan, getting full time football in the way that Fox and Harness did.
They came back really good players and assets to the club.
I guess Nigel thinks he's ready now, so Reece ought to get the spot for the next few weeks.
I'd be tempted to go with Brayf and Akins at full back, which side I'm not sure.

I think it will be Wallace. I agree I think Clough will go with Wallace. I would go with Reece though - square pegs round holes and all that.

I rate Reece and don’t think he has ever let us down. Pacy, likes to attack, can play as a winger or left sided midfielder and a natural left footer. Nigel or Andy said he was a little bit off it formwise in training, so it’s not certain but I’d give him the nod.

.Wow one position and so many choices, Gardner says in his interview not many options for that position= Hutchinson=Brayford=Akins=Wallace Our right flank have been performing well, that takes Brayford and Akins out ,So for me a straight choice Hutchinson=Wallace, Wallace available for midfield or Central midfield, or defence,or left back. Here goes Hutchinson to start==Wallace on the bench to allow strength in depth

Watched all of their highlights and they look to be playing well. They usually line up 5-3-2 ans their forward will be a threat/ Whoever they have played upfront has got in the goals already and whether it's Clarke Harris Tom Nicholls or Smith who play they could cause us problems. They'll likely start with two of the 3 and I'd expect it to be clarke Harris and Nicholl in a little and large pairing.
It looks o me as if they're more comfortable with 2 sitting midfielders.
Their 15 is a bundle of energy but definitely has a yellow card in him and Upson, their number 6 looks tidy on the ball.
They beat Tranmere 2-0 but Tranmere were sill causing them problems even with 9 men so we will get chances today. They looked good going forward against Oxford and caused Brighton a lot of problems midweek.
I fancy goals today. I think we're going to tonk a side all over the park. I'm just not sure today will be that day. We'll need goals.
4-2 Brewers.

Great result. Played some good stuff first half without creating many clear cut chances. Rovers came into it more second half. A physical battle this one the players will know they have been in a match today. Looked like one of those days where it was heading for a draw or even Rovers to nick it. Up comes Akins with a shot from a tight angle while surrounded by defenders. Rather worrying was Boycey going off with what looked like a hamstring problem. Lets hope not too serious. The ref was inconsistent again. My MOTM was O'hara today. Didn't put a foot wrong and Quinn was excellent again.

Defo hamstring for Boyce, what about Buxton? It seemed like a 0-0 but we looked to pick it up after the subs and shoved Lucus up top. NC now looking to bring in a loan player he says. They stuck at it and got the reward, ref again so so didn't help but a vast improvement over the last ref at home.
