Reffing was so inconsistent today. He gave free kicks for virtually nothing many times, and other more blatant were waved by. I do think though Ryan Edwards was a bit lucky not to be red carded.

Win ugly and you get promoted. Today certainly counts.
And the ability to spot a guy not really doing the business in midfield in a league 2 club and turn him into a very good centre back is superb. O'Toole and our management deserve credit.
One or two loan players could really but the icing on the cake.

I did not see the Edwards challenge, I was too busy arguing on Facebook about Parliamentry democracy (I have some priorities). But, overall, I thought the ref did ok, and then the BBC told me there were 34 fouls. And we did most. I think that is unusual.

From where I was on the pop side it looked a bad one, two footed, so I think he was very lucky. I thought the ref was going to pull a red out.

Think the number of fouls you mention says more about the referee than the Albion. The Rovers players were going down like ninepins every time we breathed on them.

Poor performance but good result yesterday. I never thought I would ever say this but we missed Colin Daniel yesterday. Wallace did a job defensively but we didn't have that link play down the left which we usually have. Sarkic wasn't in the game and expect tempo to have a few starts next. Thought Joe had an impact too yesterday. I would love Lucas to have full season playing up top. I think we would have a 20 goal season man for the first time in a long while if he did.
Credit to Bristol yesterday - they outplayed us for large parts of the game.

Mixed views on the game.
A disappointing crowd at 2800 with a fair contingent from Bristol. As a player it must be disheartening to see those gaps on the terraces.
We never really got going. We didn’t create much. They didn’t create much.
We didn’t look like scoring. They didn’t look like scoring.
We’ve been due a bit of luck at home. We got a couple of breaks in the last 10 minutes and everybody goes home happy!
I’m not sure we know what our best side is yet. Boyce is going to be out with a hamstring. Bucko had to go off after losing out in a typical throw your body on the line challenge. Hope it’s only a knock. Would like to see Temps get a run, always gives the side an outlet.

I do agree that we don’t use Templeton enough, maybe because he doesn’t have natural defensive qualities.

Lol Yes but I am not sure the pundits would have believed me if I had continued and said that I was arguing with someone on Facebook about the proroguation of Patliament... I'm pretty sure Arsene Wenger didn't use that line.

Agree with what has been said on the game but a bit like last season when Ben Fox scored a late winner against the same opposition they do feel like really good games to win. The league table looks pretty good after six games and as long as the injuries aren't too serious and long term we should be OK.
I guess yesterday's injury makes it less likely that Boyce will be transferred before tomorrow's deadline and it also sounds like there is a chance of a couple of loan incomings which will be interesting.
Shame the Sunderland game is off on Saturday after they lost heavily yesterday and had two red cards which would mean they would have a couple out. No doubt we will play them later in the season when they are at full strength and flying!
Onto to Crewe now on Tuesday which I think I will go to given the relatively short drive and can see us putting out a fairly strong side given competition rules and our shortness of bodies.
Agree, the crowd was very disappointing especially given what a good side we have at the moment. Maybe not as much yesterday but people are really missing out on some great entertaining football! COYB!!!

Credit to Bristol yesterday - they outplayed us for large parts of the game. Pretty much my thoughts too. I think Bristol’s sheer physically was nearly the difference, but the Brewers dug out,, held on and got their reward. I thought Sarkic drifted inwards too much and Templeton may be the guy to take that slot.

imo Sarkic had his best game for us on Tuesday against Morecambe.....whether that's because the Shrimps are not quite up to the standard of the Gas....perhaps....... or as you say their physicality stifled his skills and ability......or as someone suggested elsewhere he missed Daniel's overlapping runs and support going forwards...as I remember they did link up well.... I too like Temps because he can make things happen, he can go past defenders and he does have shooting ability in his locker... if he can create the space to get the shot off without it getting blocked....his weakness (and this can be said of some others too - Boyce? Akins? Fraser?) (as well as his limited defending ability) is that he does lose the ball too often when trying to make things happen....and this can be costly as we all know....we can be attacking down the left one minute and picking the ball out of our own net the next....just the inevitable consequence of trying to create something perhaps...you don't win em all....he'd be playing in the Premier League I guess, if he did...

Don't think I'd want to watch Bristol Rovers all season. Route one from the first kick. Heard some of their fans talking about a lack of midfield creativity. They didn't exactly use the midfield! That said, there's more than one way to play football and they gave us a lot of problems on a day when we were off it going forward. We very rarely win when we don't deserve to, so happy to take that one. Fabulous work by Lucas and a perfect counter-attack second. Little Joe raced the whole length of the pitch to be there in support if there'd been a rebound. Good lad. Boyce's injury may open up a slot for him. I didn't actually see the Edwards challenge but the reaction and everything I've read suggests he was a very lucky boy. What are people's views on the Buxton challenge? Some say 50/50, I thought their guy went through him recklessly, whether going for the ball or not. It takes a lot to keep Jake on the deck. O'Hara and O'Toole outstanding. Scotty had a mare, apart from his ball in for Lucas's goal. Hope the scouts went away thinking they'd look elsewhere.....

Yesterday certainly wasn’t one for the purists it has to be said.my mind went back to last season. I lost count of how many times last season when Nigel referred back to the Southend, Gillingham and Charlton home games where we were the better side and lost it at the death. Yesterday was one of those where Iast season we would have probably lost but this time we got the break.
Ryan’s challenge didn’t look a great one. Some refs would have given red but I don’t think it helped that it was right in front of the Rovers fans in the seats who were baying for red. One or two around me thought he was a bit lucky.
The one on Jake I thought was a full blooded 50-50 that Jake just came off worst from. I said the same as you that it must be bad if he has stayed down. Perhaps it was a little bit of a naughty one but hard to tell.
I think the decision to play JJOT at centre back has been an inspired one. Couple of times, particularly late on, when he made crucial blocks or interventions that saved an almost certain goal. Not sure he will always get the credit h deserves back there but already looks a very astute signing.
For me, I think Kieran is a fantastic shot stopper but he does worry me at times. There was one he parried straight back out to a Rovers man who luckily wasn’t quick enough to adjust and put the rebound in. I would also like to see him dominate his box a bit more at corners and free kicks. A couple of games so far he has come to punch and struggled a little. Still a young keeper and if he can develop over the season in the same way Brad did he will be an excellent keeper for us.

Indeed, can't agree with someone on FB who says he's much better than Bradley. Not yet. But he might get there. The most complimentary thing Rovers fans have been saying on their forum (given that O'Toole was with them before) is that it's a master-stroke to play him at centre-back.

Magnificent was a word used by Clough, started from the back with o"Ohara, all the way to the forwards . Quinn= Buxton=Brayford=O"Toole=Akins=experience made the difference,Points lost against Ipswich and Rotherham were picked up today,I was hoping we could hang onto a draw, During the tension of the game ,i did not reflect that we had lost=Buxton=Boyce=Sarkic, and Daniel and Broadhead were missing that was 5 out of a small squad.our young players were brilliant, and nice to see Sbarra have a impact, Templeton we know can be a match winner. When fit . Must say it feels good not to concede and then steal the points. Anyone disappointed with the attendance does not live in our world, like the away fans say the atmosphere is surreal. It will be better next home game Coventry will take their full allocation and more. Nice to see Nartley just slots in

I have to agree that Sarkic and Fraser, had some difficulty in getting their close control game going, which cost us possession too many times. These though are fine margins, and I know they will both play better next time. Fraser in particular usually turns in an 8 rated performance, and Sarcik is still finding his feet. I can't argue with Nigel that we defended well, but I was surprised to see Rovers in the second half doing to us what I was expecting us to do to them regarding attacking pressure. However, it all ended well for us thanks to what seemed an impossible scoring position goal from Lucas, who else would have done that?

It is disappointing that the people of Burton do not throng at the new Eton Park. We can but encourage.
