Just replying to your post on the now locked thread nobodygood. I reckon if the players or other employees of BAFC did read this they would be intelligent enough to spot the knob heads. 95% of the stuff on this forum is constructive debate. Also it would be boring if we all agreed all the time. Ps isn't it about time you changed your user name again? (been a while lol) Also, in Nigel's latest interview on the official website he mentions that feedback from supporters has been positive on the style of play this season so they will continue and try and improve on that next season. Not sure where they are getting their feedback from exactly but certainly if they read this forum then they will see the overwhelming majority on here are of that opinion. I think also that the reaction to the teams performances has been evident at the end of games when they are regularly applauded off the pitch and not always when we have won. The booing at the start of the season has now stopped and there is a real positive feel about the place. On that basis I don't think that anybody at the club would take any notice whatsoever of the odd negative comment as the evidence is there that the majority are happy. Nice that he also mentioned Damo and the good years service he has given.

Following relegation last season I hoped that we would survive in League One with mid table obscurity, especially after our poor start to the season. We have done slightly better with some excellent results against some of the top teams in the last third of the season. Our quick passing has improved and we have not appeared out of our depth at all. How we have done that on gates of 4 000 or thereabouts is down to good management and training. I long for someone like Jackson Irvine who could start a direct surge forward each time he had the ball and score a few goals into the bargain. Jamie Allen has done well in this role this season. Against Peterborough we played well but their finishing was more accurate though we had a chance or two in the first 15 minutes but our crosses into the box were always a little more hurried or behind the runners in the box. Thinking where we have come from over the last ten years mid table in League One is good but i always want a bit more success. Here's to next season. I've just paid for my season ticket.

Final thoughts:- A very good season, 9th is a very respectable finish and indeed our 4th highest EVER league position, A semi final of a national cup competition losing only to the eventual Cup winners MAN CITY one of the best teams in the world! I can't wait for next season, hopefully we will strengthen our already good squad and have another good season. It is as always a pleasure to support the best run club in the country. COYB

I'm not struggling (except for the cat on my knee). You disagreed with Trev's post, I think there was a deal of merit in Trev's post. You disagreed, but didn't seem able to challenge anything he said. That was my point. The moon is made of Wensleydale, I've seen that in a movie. Therefore it is true. Bit deep for a local football team forum and especially as we on here dont represent the overwhelming majority of fans. I am a season ticket holder who stands every week and watch the games. i discuss my opinion with many many other normal supporters before during and after games. I pick up others views and read reports press releases and listen to rumours of whats going on in theclub. Many of the supporters i talk to completely disagree with me but many others do agree with me. I dont take offence or start insulting them. I again tell you and others there are a myriad of views on our club its management and its owner. You and others in this forum bubble would do well to remember that instead of acting like you have somekind of superior position....which of course you dont should accept alternative opinion and i have no intention of taking any lecture from you or anyone else about my club. It will be here well after the current manager leaves as it did the last time he decided to leave. Clough would probably have been sacked by 91 other clubs during or at the end of last season. We didnt win a home game for 7 months and when challenged about this he blamed it all on the players.... nothing to do with him. Not everybody who support our club agreed with that. I disagree this forum is chance to discuss all things Burton Albion.and gives a reflection of opinions, and gives a chance for supporters to have a say..I have been attending football matches for years.and normal supporters, discuss the game with the small group around them while in the pub ==bus==or ground, and reflects the team selection, which most have different views. But you only mix with very few supporters. And we all know how fickle supporters can be. one good win and they are on board again. Over the years the media have been very impressed over the way the club is run. And astounded they reached the championship. So would be interested what you read or watch. To say supporters are in a bubble is a reflection not of being superior, but amazed at what has been achieved ,in a short space of time 10 years. To call Burton Albion my club is a insult to supporters,Where it will be when the current Chairman and Manager leaves,My problem is Being in league 1. which is a great achievement the odds are more of a down wood spiral .Most t-v pundits said having been in the running for manager of the year, if Burton survived the second season in the Championship,he should get it automatically. He did not blame the players for relegation.how could he ,when they came so close to survival, They were just up against superior opposition.. you are a insult to this forum, and your interpretation of events, are delusional

Ok, so after a little thought and to be fair to Norah, who doesn't deserve to have to deal with the kind of stuff my over direct style brings and for the sake of other forum users who probably don't enjoy reading 300 posts bonucing backwards and forwards between mainly the 2 of us, first of all I'll apologise to every single forum user bar one, secondly I've taken steps to make sure I don' have to read or reply to his posts again. I'll try.
I'm sure I'll see some of his stuff through quotes but what I promise to do is to let others respond and let others point on the flaws in his argument.
@nobodyisgood made a very good point, I liked his post for two reasons, one because he was shrewd enough to spot that others are indeed looking after this place and his posts. Sometimes the young lad talks a lot of sense. I missed that I think, last time all hell broke loose I felt I was the only one standing up to him and in the end a lot of the forum was pissed off with me. WHich I'm not comfortable with. Secondly I liked it 'cos he was brave enough to admit he used to be a troll.
I wear my heart on my sleeve when it comes to football. For me it is and has been my entire life. Everything centres around it. Still now, even though I can no longer afford to go to games, my whole Saturday is geared up to watching the text and graphic bar on bet365. Even watching that, I can judge the flow of the game and how well we're playing by the number of "dangerous attacks", "shots on target", "corners" and "possession"
How sad must I be that I look forward to that massively.
I look forward to reading other posters views on both the build up to the game, the team selection and then I very much look forward to reading certain posters feedback on the game itself.
I've said it often, we have some brilliant, knowledgeable and nice people posting on here. I trust the judgement of a lot of you and that is saying a lot from a guy who holds his own football knowledge very highly indeed.
I'm both proud and delighted to be back at Burton Albion, to be able to call myself a Brewer again. It's not a feeling I expected to have again and I certainly didn't expect to have some of the best days of my football life watching this little club do incredible things.
Now bearing in mind I've been in dressing rooms and on the pitch at Wembley, I've "collected" the Littlewoods and Rumbelows Cups with the Forest team, been thrown in the bath fully clothed as everyone went mental and travelled back on the team coach when "we" have celebrated victory after victory after victory. The fact I got to do that alongside the great, incredible and beautiful Brian Clough, you can only imagine the highs I must have felt football wise, also how proud and lucky I was to be allowed to be such a close part of it. Growing up alongside REAL football legends like Des Walker, Stuart Pearce, Roy Keane, Neil Webb, Nigel himself. I could go on and on.
Imagine this, my heroes will always be Psycho, Nige, Dessie, Roy but this club, this chairman, these set of players, this manager and his "mates", YOU the Burton fans I am lucky to call friends. You've all created new and better memories. I have new heroes.
Lucas Akins, John Brayford, Jake Buxton, hell I'm even really, really starting to love Stephen Bywater and his ultra positive attitude around the place. I idolise them like I used to idolise the Forest players, only now I'm 46 and not 16. I should know better ;-)
You might now understand why I get upset and defensive when one person tries to spoil all of that. One person tries to belittle those memories and those achievements. My memories. OUR memories.
This club is censored.word fantastic. Everything about it. I especially love how tinpot and out of our depth we sometimes are,on and off the pitch, yet still on our day, we'll play anyone and we'll give it a good crack.
So I'm sorry for the war and peace post, I'm sorry for the trouble I cause but I'm not sorry for standing up to a bullying troll. I just hope I don't have to bite to him again.
COYB.

Some brilliant posts here. My final thoughts yet again a season massively punching above our weight. I honestly do believe we are the luckiest football fans in England to have the best chairman and manager in the country bar none. What this football club has achieved with the tools it has is nothing short of remarkable. Long may it continue.

Rotherham didn't sack their manager at the end of the 2016/17 season (our first in the Championship) when they only amassed 23 points. They kept the faith with Paul Warne and he guided them back from League One at the first attempt. They've just got relegated from the Championship again and haven't sacked him. Maybe they have a chairman like Ben Robinson who can't see the benefit of chopping and changing managers and can see the bigger long term picture of what the manager is trying to achieve for the club. I think Nigel has enough credit in the bank for his achievements here not to be sacked.

Statkin, once more you promise to ignore a certain poster[,please do.] , Burton Albion are still a small family club, and what they have achieved , and still achieving is a credit to the way they are run. and the club are now firmly on the football map, The Championship run and this seasons league cup success has seen to that. 9th in league 1 . After 3 unreal seasons ,what a testament to stability, and what a treat for 3-000 fans

I take it that by deleting a account you take a break after all it is summer, and it stops people looking at your previous post. After all weather you post or not is a matter of choice. I like sharing his posts,But like life we move on , come back as broomo the name feels right. Final thoughts i never realized that at the start of 2018/19 we had lost 12 players,i concentrated on the 5 offered contracts, and Not others that had moved on . On reflection the task of a stable squad, was shattered, and once more a lack of cash restricted Burton from some important choices with players. So finishing top half in League 1 was achieved, with a depleted squad. Negatives that were quoted about our last season and me looking at the positives. the depth of the task evaded me, just shows how delicate the inner working of the club are,and mistakes must be limited to progress,or even to consolidate our lofty position.
