Tony Bentley on the Radio has identified a few areas for obvious improvement, the double defeats against so many teams below us.
But there are a few positives as well, 8th highest scorers in the League this season and 10th lowest conceded. We finished 9th so that is all about right.
Can we improve an do that much better and get to the top 2, I don't think so.
Can we get into the top 6? I think that is possible and that is the aim for sure.

I think it very much depends on who we can get in. If we can sign Collins and bring in another 3 of quality, we could give any of the top teams a run for their money.

It would be huge to have him back. Surely Chelsea are pleased with his development under our watch and to get him out to a play off chasing team will do him no harm at all. I personally don't think we need 3. If we keep hold of Boyce I'd only look to bring in a defender. The rest is already spot on. I fancy a decent season coming our way. Don't forget we still don't quite know how good Marcus is going to be, young Bradley may surprise us as well. Lovely to see him get his goal today, I hope it's not a Will Miller Wolves type goal, where he doesn't get too many more after that one.

I would like to see another striker brought in ,as we are light in that department if either Boycie or Lucas get injured.Plus if Boycie is away on international duty .

They are under an embargo (ha). Realistically, the lad will be free agent. I hope we can keep him.

Maybe Sordell can come back and get fit and do a job for next season.....ok, maybe not but you never know! Marcus is also now firmly established as one of the front three and also hopefully Templeton can get back to his best. I do agree though it would be ideal if we could get another forward to bolster the numbers. We will no doubt utilise the loan market again.

It would help to bring in another central striker after all we only have one but then again we only have one CB and only if bucko decides to stay on and he will be 35 in march!! Madness!!

Not madness Royston but prudence. Cutting our cloth accordingly. We are a small club, with small gates and a small home fan base. Some of which is caused by negative people like you spreading bad news and poison. I’m sorry if that’s blunt but it’s true - you (whether you mean to or not) are damaging Burton Albion FC and our future.

Royston is entitled to his opinion. It may be deluded, misguided, lacking in substance, biased, ill-thought, stupid, bizarre, untrue or largely apocryphal. But he is entitled to it.

It would be madness to only have one centre half if it were the 1st of August but it's not it's the 5th May and the transfer window isn't open yet apart from signing free agents. It's obvious that you have to know who is staying first before you know how much of the budget is available for new recruits. It's the same for EFL clubs up and down the land and I don't understand why you don't get that.

An hour and half journey back from Peterborough gives you time to think about the season.
Burton Albion have only ever played in League One for two seasons. We finished 2nd and 9th. Just imagine - if Coventry & Fleetwood had won yesterday, we've have finished 11th - I'd have been a bit disappointed with that. How things change!!!!!
In our main, first XI, only Brad Collins is on loan. Kyle is going. The rest are ours; bring on next season. I know it's not as simple as that but let me have my moment!
Here's a list of clubs who are MUCH, MUCH BIGGER than us: Notts County, Yeovil, Bradford City, Scunthorpe Utd, Walsall, Plymouth Argyle, Chesterfield, Tranmere Rovers, Cambridge Utd (4th bottom of League Two LOL), Torquay Utd etc etc etc.
We have played most of the teams in this league off the park. Some of them scored more goals that us. The stats that Ian quotes in the first posts are astonishing when you think about how the season started and how much cash, support etc etc.
The future is bright; the future is black & yellow.

May i say in your list of bigger clubs i notice you only name a few,and they are mainly non-league and league 2 clubs.even in league 1 their are only 2 clubs smaller than Burton Albion. And i believe royston and fairies expect promotion once more to the Championship where most clubs spend millions and fit all our fans into a small corner of their stadiums. 9th in league 1 on our budget is fantastic

It is possible to disagree, but you don't back up your argument. 9th worst attended club in the 92. What we have done/do is remarkable. Disagree as much as you like, but... Strange you suggesting i dont back up an opinion when so many others on here suggest i go OTT. Then again that in itself is criticised. It doesnt worry me so dont lose any sleep over being out if line with the other sycophants

I'm not struggling (except for the cat on my knee). You disagreed with Trev's post, I think there was a deal of merit in Trev's post. You disagreed, but didn't seem able to challenge anything he said. That was my point.
The moon is made of Wensleydale, I've seen that in a movie. Therefore it is true.

Bit deep for a local football team forum and especially as we on here dont represent the overwhelming majority of fans. I am a season ticket holder who stands every week and watch the games. i discuss my opinion with many many other normal supporters before during and after games. I pick up others views and read reports press releases and listen to rumours of whats going on in theclub. Many of the supporters i talk to completely disagree with me but many others do agree with me. I dont take offence or start insulting them. I again tell you and others there are a myriad of views on our club its management and its owner. You and others in this forum bubble would do well to remember that instead of acting like you have somekind of superior position....which of course you dont should accept alternative opinion and i have no intention of taking any lecture from you or anyone else about my club. It will be here well after the current manager leaves as it did the last time he decided to leave. Clough would probably have been sacked by 91 other clubs during or at the end of last season. We didnt win a home game for 7 months and when challenged about this he blamed it all on the players.... nothing to do with him. Not everybody who support our club agreed with that.
