Looking at todays results it is noticeable how many teams below us (teams Royston was recently bemoaning we should've beaten but didnt) beat or drew with teams above us
Wimbledon 2 v Doncaster 0 Bradford 3 v Peterborough 1 Walsall 2 v Fleetwood 0
Then there was Plymouth 0 Luton 0 Wycombe 1 v Sunderland 1 Blackpool 2 v Southend 2
Good wins for 3 other teams below us too... Gillingham Rochdale and Bristol Rovers
Noted too our next opponents Charlton beat promotion hopefuls Pompey 2 v 1
It's tight and getting tighter as we get nearer and nearer squeaky bum time....
10 games to go 30 points to play for.... Hold on to your hats boys and girls...

After all these draws and weâre still looking at the table and thinking if only we had won a couple of those games that we really should have.
I guess we are an âif only side* and itâs been an âif only seasonâ.
Itâs a long time since weâve had a genuine mid table season at the Albion. When was the last? Youâre never quite within reach of top or bottom.
It will be interesting to see what Nigel does in the summer to strengthen if budget allows. I guess a few will go out/back.
Any flak/criticism flying around this season on here seems to have been directed at the centre of the back four but surely that is our absolute rock solid strength and has been all season be it Bucko, Fadz, Brayf⌠I have my doubts around the keeper but heâs really come on recently but no doubt will return to his parent club. Full back I donât think weâve solved but complicated it certainly.
Going off topic I know but at the end of the day for me we havenât scored enough goals and we are where we are sitting comfortably mid table.

Proof if it were needed that this is a very tight league 1 this season with little between the top and bottom teams. I expect a few surprises but not many for us. In the close season, Nigel and his team will know what league they are playing in and what the budget is going to be. He will put a team together which collectively punches above its weight and aims for that top half of the table next season with an optimistic eye on the play-offs. I reckon.

Managers always talk about turning draws into wins and defeats into draws and it's usually just a boring soundbite. But this season, we've seen the evidence very clearly at the Pirelli where we've absolutely battered teams and drawn 1-1. Did we lose to Gillingham when they had two shots and we had twenty. That game where Jake Hesketh (great player) floated 19 corners into the goalkeeper's hands. There's a lot of games we should have won. So the 'what if' is a VERY strong what if. We COULD have been up there. Onwards and upwards. Well, hopefully upwards!!

interesting isn't it.
Doncaster are our targets on 55 points with a game in hand compared to our 47 points
Donny have Blackpool on Tuesday, Blackpool maybe a bit resurgent with the ownership thing sorted and are also only a couple of points behind Donny
Draw for those two and if we win against Charlton then its game on. Defeat on tuesday probably ends our chances unless something odd happens

I agree in his world teams near the bottom get beat or the chairman and manager aint doing their job,and should be brought to task [perhaps a poll ]. Wimbledon=won-----Bradford=won----Rochdale=won-----thats 3 out of the bottom 4 all won----in the real world only 5 points between relegation and 12th place with 10 to play. Many people say in football, any body can beat any body.and history proves it. 3 points on sat means we can breath , Charlton on tues will need our energy

For me the problem recently has been the disappointing loss of form of Liam Boyce and it really has surprised me. To me Boycey is one of the best strikers we have ever had and if he had kept banging them in like we know he can, weâd be right up there now. Maybe his injury and a complete season since, plus a tough pre season to regain his fitness has taken its toll, but itâs a real shame as his goals have been all we have been missing to make the top 6. Thatâs not Nigel and the managementâs fault and must be very frustrating.

He doesnât become a bad player overnight so itâs a form thing. Iâm sure he is as frustrated as anyone else.

He's getting clattered it seems at every challenge he goes into, looks knackered after 30 mins into any match, maybe it's just his demeanor. I think giving him a rest ie putting him on the bench for a few matches and use as a sub may benefit him. Whatever, he's a fighter and one I think will never give in easy.

Boyce is up against two strong defenders every match, taking it in turns to clatter him, making him our main focal point, must take his toll, and so giving him a breather must be a necessity, even when relatively fit. Boyce for me needs a big 6-4 bully made for combat target man,so he can feed of the loose balls and flick ons. He is a predator. Clough believes mid field should be the source for goals, and likes someone to hold up play and bring runners into attacking positions. with this type of player he still gets double figures from a centre forward. Watched 2 matches recently Derby and Portsmouth, i found their midfields lacking in flair, and side way passes the norm. Then thought of our small club =Frazier=Allen=Sbarra=Harness=Miller=Quinn=Bradley=all classed as midfield players, and have no fear of taking players on moving the ball forward, Thinking about it, its nice to have flair players in our side

Makes you wonder how Liam would have fared with big Chris OâGrady knocking balls on for him?

Makes you wonder how Liam would have fared with big Chris OâGrady knocking balls on for him? He was quite an underrated player. The majority of Jacksons goals came through his movement/hold up play. The only downside was his lack of goals, like most of our strikers in recent history đ

I see weve only lost 2 out of the last 14 games
Obviously too many draws in there for us to challenge playoffs but it's a decent run of form we are in for sure
