I agree. Reckless/dangerous is deemed worthy of a red. In this case it was neither, just mistimed/late and when you commit like that you're asking for it.

Meh - meaning is mild disappointment - but the use here is to avoid expressing discontent as a result of unrealistic expectations

Sounds like the forces were against us. Radio says Burton's 2nd goal not offside and Hull's 2nd was. agreed, I thought their first goalscorer was offside after the first shot hit the bar?? Hull's second was definitely onside. First was clearly offside.

I think it's worth remembering our results last season when Turner and Brayford didn't play. Plenty of games to go. We are a diff team when they play imo. Trouble is one of them isnt at the club anymore. We shouldnt blame the sending off for today. The third goal was bad, jake should have just headed it away not try and bring it down from the to the floor and the 4th goal saw a hull player just run off his man unmarked? We have to do better than this.

Surprised no-one has blamed Flanagan.

This is most likely how I heard it, got mixed up. Can't really make any comments, wasn't there, it's uphill for a club like ours down to 10 and having to reshuffle, one up front away from home too. We can only learn from it, bet NC is quietly seething at the red card, we move on.

If a foul is careless, no further punishment is deemed necessary. If it is reckless it is cautionable If there is excessive force a player must be sent off. In my opinion it was careless.

Yeah... I need to stay off Facebook as our own fans are p**sing me off. They make it sound like we lost because we were dreadful, Perhaps they should refer to the Chelsea result today. A red card massively effects a game. A sub to a defender also effects a game... especially for us. What was the reaction when Flanagan got subbed on?

We lost 1-0 to Cardiff Villa lost 3-0 to Cardiff
Villa have spent millions.

Such a frustrating day. First off Warnock gets injured in a totally innocuous challenge and has to go off. I have to admit I didn’t know their opener was offside because we’re at the other end of the ground but I did think at the time that if Warnock is still on the pitch then he’s picking Hernandez up and probably doesn’t get such a clear cut go at it. They gave us the run around for a good 10/15 minutes but then we really got a foothold in the game and Dyer was causing them all manner of problems down that left hand side. We were well worth the equaliser, probably Jackson’s best in a Brewers shirt, because we were on top at the time and I thought we’d definitely get at least a point.
The obvious turning point in the game was Jackson’s dismissal. His first yellow was definitely deserved but the second, in my opinion, wasn’t. If the fouls were the other way around then Jackson only gets one yellow and I felt that he was harshly punished by the referee. If we’re now saying a slightly mis-timed tackle by a player committing his 2nd foul in the game is reasonable cause for a red card then we’ve lost all common sense in the game. I’m not saying we’d have definitely got something from the game because you can never know how these things would’ve turned out but we were playing with confidence and the equaliser silenced the buoyant home support who were brilliant...while they were winning.
2nd half was just a procession. Their manager sent them out to capitalise on being a man up and they did it ruthlessly. It could’ve been a bigger thrashing were it not for Bywater.
Akins worked himself into the ground, Lund impressed again and we played some good football when it was 11 vs 11. I’m not too hopeful we’ll get much from Tuesday but back to back home games after that with Irvine, Turner (for the second one) and some new signings will give us a boost. We need to get off the mark then and I’m confident we will if we stick to what we’re doing and keep plugging away.
Song of the day from the Hull fans - “you’ve had your day out, now f**k off home” - If their idea of a day out is Hull then they’d think Newhall is paradise...

Watched the highlights, I think that is a very unfortunate yellow card. It is a foul, but a booking? Meh, not for me. Also the ref seemed to give it as routine foul then realise it was Jackson then decide therefore to book him so he would be sent off. I don't think the Ref was going to issue a yellow until the Hull fans started baying for one. When that happened he seemed to panic and reach for it. But I agree it was careless and not a yellow card offence.

Just seen the goals on Sky’s highlights show. Great to see 3 Hull players putting a bit of pressure on the ref to give Jackson a 2nd yellow and also the congratulatory kiss on the head for Bowen for being on the receiving end. Nothing mentioned about the first being offside. Just plaudits for Hernandez for being in the right place at the right time. Jimmy was their pundit but we weren’t mentioned.

Goals on 5 said Mick McCarthy was the best manager on a budget.
Lol.
He's spent £5m at least this window... jokers.
