Not good today, it was going to happen sometime! El Khatie was wasn't in it and should have been substituted at half time, BIg John should have punched it but he's still my man of the season so far
Naylor deserved MOM
Going to have a few tonight, we'll bounce back

I said sometimes over confidence come to bite you back on the bum. Well not quite but a draw I would have taken going into the last few mins. Ref shit, a few players not on it, unhappy manager at FT, we go again Tues, we are due a duff result, hope that was it.

Ref wasn't just shit he was downright inept and biased. Just before half time, he was down at our end and looked as though he needed oxygen, he was blowing that badly!
Never have I seen so many fouls unpunished and so few yellow cards brandished against a dirty cynical team. Shrewsbury played him like a violin and he certainly danced to their tune, particularly the number 38 and non-league Mangan.
Duffy and Nasser were both below par today and the inability to get enough decent balls into their box ultimately cost us, although perhaps we could argue the foul on Johnno for the first goal and the two penalty calls and the fact Shrews still had 11 men on the park had a big influence too.
We needed to play our own game, rather than be drawn down to their level today but hopefully we'll learn to be stronger and console ourselves with a better performance at Peterborough?

Absolutely fuming , shrews were dirty cheats esp the defender on beavon , ref was dog poo . I also used to like shrews but not now hope they go down ..

^^^ Exactly, I also say banging balls up to Beavs just didn't work today. Not a moan as it has worked up to now, an observation as to really change our approach sometimes in a game. We had Joachim on the bench, just stick him in for 15 mins or so. As said we are still in a great position, results again went our way, what's not to like apart from today's result.

I think Clough was spot on in his post match comments on Radio Derby.
I understand Mr Salisbury was the referee was the official when we played Peterborough earlier in the season. Two shockers for him then.
Just a question for the refs out there, if you stop play to book someone for dissent do you give a free kick where the ball is or where the player was?

He liked his drop balls, he also didn't get around the pitch much.

Oh dear, not a good result today. At half time we were 1-0 up with a cracker from Damo and were reasonable, not playing with enough tempo and not going for the jugular at 1-0. 2nd half as expected we came at them from the start without creating too much and then conceded a sloppy goal, we pressed and then left ourselves open to the sucker punch. We didn't deserve to win but we didn't deserve to lose. Salop did to us what we have done to many and beat us at our own game. Other factors though were the referee Mr Salisbury, I thought he had a good 1st half but 2nd half he allowed Shrews to get away with way too much and some of his decisions were bizarre, seemed like he was giving them everything. His approach disrupted the game and we couldn't get into any flow. Results like this can always happen, lets hope there is a reaction at Posh, we are still in poll position though and we are still doing brilliantly.

I just don't think we were doing that, in fact I would say that today we did that less that in many of the last 10 games or so.

Very poor ref today . I didn't see anything wrong with the Shrewsbury goal Mac didn't get to it they scored. We didn't create much and needed to get Nasser and Duff on the ball a lot more than we did. We missed Weir and have weak cover there.Need to do better Tuesday.

I don't like giving referees too much grief, there job is difficult, but yesterday he had a very poor day. I believe he cost us the game. We were not brilliant yesterday, but we were good enough to win, particularly if Beavon had been given some protection by the ref from their Centre Back. He should have been booked in the first half, and the tackle he made on Beavon in the second half would have been his well deserved second yellow. Overall his performance was not good enough for either team.

This is a game that we should have won, to be fair to the Shrews they came to do a job on us and it worked, especially taking Beavon out of the game, whether the lad did it lawfully, well....... The ref second half was woeful, breaking up the game so much that it was sometimes difficult to understand what was going on, a good ref is almost anonymous but 2nd half was more like a ref show than a football match. Regroup for Tues and hopefully get right back on track.
