Our promotion partners Shrewsbury shall be visiting the Pirelli on Saturday. The reverse of this fixture saw an incredibly drab game won by Burton in the 90th minute!
Form (Last 10) going into this game: Burton: WLWWWWDWWW Shrewsbury: LWDLDLDWLL (the wins coming against Sheffield & Crewe)
As can be seen, this looks like a nice easy fixture. I think it will be far from this though. I trust that the lads will have their heads in the right place and bring home the three points but I don't see it being a walk in the park. Having said this, a friend of mine went to the Shrewsbury v Barnsley game and said they appeared rather hopeless.
I remember this fixture in League 2 last year, they bought about 1k fans. A good attendance again on Saturday would be nice !
Fingers crossed,
COYB.

Obviously a defeat for Burton. We are rubbish against crap teams.

The games you expect to win are often the toughest ones
I'm not voting as don't want to jinx us

All very sensible...do not underestimate a wounded opposition.
I'll be the first to stick my neck out and say we won't underestimate them and should win by two clear goals or better.
Humble pie in the oven waiting!

never mind being cautious, WIN WIN WIN no problem. I predict that we will humble another club who were once a lot bigger than us. COYB.

It's amazing how much things have changed psychologically in less than a year... throughout the time we were somehow maintaining our tiny lead at the top through the last couple of months of last season, I was convinced the Shrews had the stronger mentality and that the day we were overtaken was an inevitability just around the corner (all the way until that final day, when I still had my suspicions up until about half time). This season's been different... really tough game Saturday I reckon though, and I hope Shrewsbury stay up... but without help from us on Saturday!

Big game against arguably the biggest team in the league! I'll be there cheering on the mighty brewers!

I don't think many here will say "we will roll them over" or statements similar. They even say (the fans) "we are in for a tonking" the Shrews that is. No, as most managers will say, every game is a hard game, no game is easy. If you get too confident it comes back to bite you on the bum.
Strange results happen in football, we win when really think a draw is good, we lose when it should be a bang on victory.
I'm going for a draw this time, err I said that for last weeks match, I'm never over confident.

We'll be seeing quite a different Shrews side than the one we saw in August. They have made at least 9 changes in this window.
Out - James Collins, Tyrone Barnett, Mark Ellis, Liam Lawrence, In - James Wallace (Blades), Kyle Vassell (P'boro), Richie Wellens (Donny), Andy Mangan (Tranmere), Jack Grimmer (Fulham),
Their Swiss International keeper Jayson Leutwiler is back on the bench after suffering a serious facial injury and concussion in early December at Grimsby.
So going with the theory that it takes new players time to gel and become a team I'll go for a comfortable win for the Brewers. I don't see there being any changes in the squad that played at Coventry last week, unless someone has picked up an injury. COYB!!

Let's hope they don't sack their manager until after they play us!
Never like playing teams with new manager bounce

Certainly there's no such thing as an easy game. The team must be well up for the game mentally, and if so we should win.

One game at time, team focus, game plan, action. Shrews are in disarray from top to bottom but no easy games in this division. I expect a win and it to be close. Not expecting a big turn out from Shrews disillusioned fans to be honest. Most of those coming are expecting to lose but to enjoy a few beers around town. That would do just nicely thank you.

I hope James Wallace doesn't play.
He's really struggled with injuries throughout his career and was hardly fit at all during his time at Sheffield United.
He's gone to Shrewsbury to earn a contract I think, they've got nowt to lose in offering him a short term deal, i'm fairly sure the Blades released him on a free.
The lad has got some real quality about him. He's a strong and all action central midfielder and he likes to get forward as well. He sometimes tries a bit too hard and occasionally makes the wrong decisions with his final pass or finish, but he's definitely capable of grabbing a game by the scruff of the neck.
He'll be a threat if he plays.

Think he turned the contract down, they offered.....500minutes, unlimited texts & free roaming, 18months rolling.

I'm always wary when playing a team that's come off the back of a hiding. I just cant see anything other than a home win though. You just know that over confidence is never going to an issue with us. Just a real doggedness and team spirit that is a delight to see.
