Figured I'd start an official thread for the game.
Some 'bad' news:
BURTON Albion striker Aurelien Joachim has been called up to the Luxembourg squad for their 2016 European Championships qualifier against Macedonia on Saturday. Luxembourg currently sit bottom of Group C with one point to their name but will move off the foot of the table with a victory against second-bottom Macedonia. The match at the Stade Josy Barthel - Luxembourg's national stadium - kicks off at 6pm local time on Saturday, September 5. That means Joachim will miss the Brewers' home clash with Coventry City in front of the Sky cameras on Sunday, September 6.
www.burtonmail.co.uk/Burton-Albion-striker-called-Luxembourg-s-Euro/story-27714011-detail/story.html
He is available tonight though so expect him to get 90 minutes whilst Beavon/Thiele and co rest up for Sunday.
Coventry come into this game with the form: WWLD, with the L/D coming against Walsall (2-1) and Southend (2-2),
Coventry are also missing Maddison through injury (supposed to be a key striker).
The only time we have previously played Coventry was in the JPT, almost 3 years to the day ago where we lost 0-0 (10-9) on penalties,
Fingers crossed it's a good game. A sell-out crowd is expected from the away end. Given the international break, and the summer holidays coming to an end, I am hoping for a good home attendance.
COYB.

Coventry and Southend drew on Monday so we are alone in 3rd, one goal away from being even with The Blades in 2nd. Blades vs Colchester is postponed on Sat so on Sunday evening we have a chance to be in 1st place with a win and a Walsall draw or loss.

Good evening everyone, I am a Coventry fan and do a preview for my own site www.football-talk.org/forum/phpBB3/index.php and was looking for someone to give me a Brewers point of view - a review of your season so far a prediction of what the starting lineup and obviously how you think the game will go. Thanks in advance

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City’s League One game at Burton Albion is Peter Bankes from Merseyside. Mr Bankes is on the select list of assistant referees for Premier League matches and this is his second full season as a referee. The only City he has been refereed before was last season’s 2-1 win at Fleetwood Town. His assistants are: Philip Dermott and Nigel Smith. The Fourth Official is Andy Woolmer.

From the Coventry Telegraph
Coventry City boss Tony Mowbray fails in request to postpone televised game at Burton Albion 05:45, 3 SEPTEMBER 2015 BY ANDY TURNER
The three Sky Blues players missing on Sunday
Tony Mowbray has revealed that he tried to get Sunday’s match at Burton Albion postponed due to Coventry City having three players on international duty.
The Sky Blues travel to the Pirelli Stadium this weekend without leading scorer Adam Armstrong and midfielder Bryn Morris who are with England Under-19s and 20s respectively, and back-up striker George Thomas who is away with Wales Under-19s.
Story Link: Newcastle United's Adam Armstrong to miss Coventry City's game against Burton Albion due to international duty Football Association rules say that any club in the lower two divisions of the Football League that has three or more internationals on duty can request a postponement, but when Mowbray contacted the FA yesterday to ask for the televised fixture to be moved to enable him to name a full-strength squad against the newly-promoted Brewers at a later date he was told City don’t qualify because Armstrong and Morris are on youth loans.
“We asked the question but the answer is no and we have to get on with it,” he said. “Youth loans don’t count, apparently.”
Tony Mowbray “I have had a discussion with the FA because bottom line they are playing in our team. George Thomas has been off the bench enough times to qualify, Bryn Morris has played a couple of times off the bench and Adam Armstrong is a major player for us.
“I am just thankful that Sam Ricketts and Reda Johnson have not had call-ups from their standby status.”
City’s goal scoring centre-backs have, unusually, been omitted from duty with Wales and Benin this time but Armstrong – who has been nominated for the League One player of the month award after his sensational start to the season – is on England Under-19 duty with former City boss Aidy Boothroyd ahead of the international friendlies against Germany and Croatia either side of the trip to Burton.
Middlesbrough loan man Morris is also unavailable for the game because he is in Keith Downing’s England Under-20 squad which faces the Czech Republic at Shrewsbury’s Greenhous Meadow on Monday.
Thomas, meanwhile, is in the Wales Under-19 squad due to play Poland at Bangor City on Saturday.

Good evening everyone, I am a Coventry fan and do a preview for my own site www.football-talk.org/forum/phpBB3/index.php and was looking for someone to give me a Brewers point of view - a review of your season so far a prediction of what the starting lineup and obviously how you think the game will go. Thanks in advance Season so far has been fantastic. As small fish in this league I said before the season that I would be happy with just survival this season. And 4 wins from the opening 5 and 3rd in the league is a brilliant start towards that. Arguably our best performance was in the game we lost at Barnsley too so we could easily be sitting top with a 100% record with a bit of luck that day. Our momentum from last season has continued as well as the winning habit even when not playing great such as at Shrewsbury at the weekend. Think Jimmy will line up 4-5-1 for this one to counter your attacking play so far this season. Wouldn't like to predict a lineup as the impressive performances from some of our 'backups' in recent games has given the gaffer some mega selection headaches. I think this will be our biggest test of the season so far. Think I would be predicting defeat but with your recent injuries and Armstrong on international duty I'm going to go for a draw. Which I personally would be happy with. Living practically in Coventry myself means I'll be in for a week of gloating if we get anything less.

We've got nothing to fear
Coventry should be worried about us more than we are them
Concentrate on playing our own game and if they are good enough to beat us so be it
