Some observations on comments above: - They announced 850 away support, there was at least 800 behind the goal plus 2 sets of seats mostly full so I would say about 1200 of Posh and 2200 of us. - it was a cracking goal from Maddison, Jono never had a chance, but you are right lagertops he does fall over at will - their 2nd goal called back for a shirt pull, but it was never a corner in the first place, whistle went when the corner was taken, so....? Same in the first half when Moose won the ball but was called for a foul on our 25 yard line, the whistle blew as soon as the kick was taken.
But, We are 4 games in with 9 points out of 12 and in 5th place in L1...pinch me. And we are playing in a higher division, what is there to moan about from a fans pov. i thought we were the better side for 70ish minutes, but it seemed the heat and humidity wore us down, and teams often play better with 10 men. Happy as a pig in shit.

I don't think the "heat and humidity” comment holds any substance unless Peterborough is a suburb of Bangkok ! BUT we won , so on we go toTuedays game Porks

I'll let Jimmy deal with the logistics... I wonder why when tm said we looked worn out at 65-70mins you liked his comment, yet you disagree with my comment that we were worn down at 70mins?? Oh well. Anyway, sorry to hear about your fathers passing, my condolences to you and the family. On the Popside at 97 mins a man in front of us collapsed, we tried to cool him down with water and fanning and got St. John's ambulance people involved who took over. He is a big man and a regular, every home game supporter...Hope he is ok, does anyone know?

Just watched the highlights, great 1st goal, Nasser -- Timmy -- Beavon -- Nasser...get in! Maddison's goal was excellent and Jono's attempted save was in vain. Nothing clear as to why their 2nd was called back.

Off topic. Thanks to Ian Hawkins and the club for announcing the passing of my Father at today's game. Dad was a true brewer, still discussing new signings two days before he passed. He saw the first ever brewers match at Wellington St . He introduced me to the Brewers at an early age and we went on to enjoy many matches together over many years . His Grandaughter is now a big fan too ,thanks to Dad. He would have thoroughly enjoyed today's game . The linesman would have taken a lot of abuse from him for missing so much today! Back to the match. I thought we nearly blew it. When Beavon went off and they went down to ten we looked as though we wanted to keep possession rather than put the ball in the net. It almost didn't work. I think posh had some dirty players out there today too. Anyway, another three points . An exciting and controversial game and one that I will remember for several reasons. Thanks again to Ian and the club. Porky My condolences Porky on losing your father( a true Brewer), I lost my Dad on fathers day this year and still have not come to terms with it so understand what you are going through. Regarding the game I also thought Posh got away with a lot, poor old Timmy Thiele must be nursing some bruises today.

Many condolences Porky.
Hope the Brewers managed to cheer you up a bit, although they left us on the edge of our nerves a bit?

Peter Cope who took poorly on the popside, at the end of the game, was taken by ambulance to Queens hospital, Burton I am pleased to let you know that he has subsequently been discharged.

Peterborough tweeted they had sold about 700 before yesterday. Not quite sure why anybody would think the away attendance would be announced wrong.

- it was a cracking goal from Maddison from 30ish yards I thought J Mc did go for it, and the video shows he did ... but hey, videos eh?

I agree, I don't believe the figure would be wrongly announced. I am though disappointed that only around 2600 home fans were there. This is about 400 less than for the Scunthorpe game. Why?

I was slightly disappointed that the Posh didn't bring more. There is no way there was 800 in the away end but I agree the home attendance was well down after such a cracking start and Derby not in action either.

I'm going to hazard a guess it's something to do with having to pay £19 on the gate as opposed to £17 if you buy in advance. People may have been caught out by that at the Scunthorpe game, and thought twice about going yesterday, perhaps not even realising there's a discount for buying early. People may not be able to get to the ground on weekdays to purchase their tickets in advance anyway, and they also may not be aware there's the option to purchase them online. It could of course also be that it's still August and they may be away on holiday.

A lot of supporters may be like me and with two games this week and a cost of £47.00 for the league game plus the travel costs from the other side of Nottingham to get me and my kids in I chose the Middlesbrough game instead.

Time will tell re attendance figures. If we hold our position in the league come around 10 games in that should see us well out of holiday season. Hopefully we start getting at least 4000+ or am I expecting too much. I've been disappointed so far with the figures hoped for more yesterday.

I think Phil has a good point. Two home games in four days with the cup game cheaper and against more attractive (championship) opposition.
Summer holidays will still be a factor too.
Still on the Peterborough match topic I notice that PA missed all three of our yellow cards yesterday. They are not noted anywhere on BBC, Sky or anywhere. If only that meant they didn't get counted!
