Off topic. Thanks to Ian Hawkins and the club for announcing the passing of my Father at today's game. Dad was a true brewer, still discussing new signings two days before he passed. He saw the first ever brewers match at Wellington St . He introduced me to the Brewers at an early age and we went on to enjoy many matches together over many years . His Grandaughter is now a big fan too ,thanks to Dad. He would have thoroughly enjoyed today's game . The linesman would have taken a lot of abuse from him for missing so much today!
Back to the match. I thought we nearly blew it. When Beavon went off and they went down to ten we looked as though we wanted to keep possession rather than put the ball in the net. It almost didn't work. I think posh had some dirty players out there today too. Anyway, another three points . An exciting and controversial game and one that I will remember for several reasons.
Thanks again to Ian and the club. Porky

Great first goal for us.
Second their 'keeps had a 'mare.
Their goal was a speculative strike but I was very surprised that J Mc didn't go for it, I thought (from 100 yards away) it was saveable.
Potentially very lucky at the end. Can't say I have a clue why the 'equaliser' was disallowed.

Sad to hear that news Porky.
Didn't know it was you when I picked up the message before the game to read out.
A Brewer from start to finish by the sounds of it. Hopefully the Brewers 'family' will help see you and your family through what I am sure is a difficult time.
Thoughts are with you at this time.
Ian

I believe the ref blew for a foul when the first shot hit the post so that when the next shot on the rebound went in it couldn't be allowed. The player that "scored' it will never hit a better shot and not score a goal.

Experienced the devastating loss of my dad a while ago, the support & messages received even from strangers were so helpful in coming to terms with my loss. So just wanted to send my condolences and say my dad's presence is always with me, i'm sure your father's will always be with you too.

Maybe he was the only one to see the foul by a Peterborough player that denied them an injury time equaliser... Maybe he gave the officials a nudge on his way to the hereafter... RIP Mr Porky Senior

I blinked and missed the highlights for Burton on the channel 5 show... What an awful programme.

I've just watched it a few times and couldn't see much wrong with the equaliser!!

I've just watched it a few times and couldn't see much wrong with the equaliser!! Neither could I. They were a dirty side today though and got away with a lot. Akins got hurt when the keeper kicked him in the stomach on the ground for example. Perhaps justice has been done ?

Maybe the ref realised 7 minutes was a bit daft and felt bad? Oh well I'm sure we will have a few go against us over the season.
