Now this one does look likely, the reason ? Jimmy says so himself. Whether its a permanent or loan deal if it happens I'm not sure. My suspicion is we will look for a permanent deal. If we can keep him fit he will be a tremendous signing. I hadn't realised he had stayed with us after his injury or that he lived locally. Everything points to him signing. It all depends on the Blades and hopefully Nigel can do us a good deal. This news could affect whether Florent is released or not.... Its hard to say what will happen with Cuvelier now, whoever comes may want to keep him or may want rid, it could work for or against us.

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that Kane Hemmings was a possible transfer target for us . He has signed a contract with Dundee for next season , so there's one to scrub off the list .

Scotland is where he has done well in his career. He's not a bad player but not one that I thought would improve us. I think the link was just paper talk yet again and he was linked to us just because he was born in Burton.

That's the best news so far...I too hadn't realised he was already contracted for next year but very wise to tie up two years, as there will undoubtedly be other clubs looking at Nasser as he goes up a division.
It now says, if you want him...it's going to cost you!
Brilliant, I love watching him, occasionally frustrating but never dull and nearly always produces that moment of magic to turn a game.

I remember when he got the ball at his feet in the last minute at home against Southend, I said "go on son and make a name for yourself" a drop of the shoulder and a swing of the right peg and bingo the lads done it.

Yes, this is really good news. I, like pretty well everyone else, hadn't realised that we had taken an option to keep him for next season anyway. I hope he can continue in the same form for us in league 1. I think he can be a tremendous asset to our team.

Echo what has been said, I think expectations will be very high, I hope he gets a little slack when it does not go well for him.

It took a few games for him to get into game shape after he arrived but I have no doubt he will hit the ground running in August. A very astute signing by Jimmy Floyd.

Yes league 1 is what I meant, senior moments seem to be creeping up on me more and more ! Having read todays Burton Mail it would seem Tom Naylor and Kelvin Maynard will sign on the dotted line but as expected Adam McGurk will hold out as long as he can to see if he gets a better offer from somewhere else. The players report back for training on 22nd June and I don't think Jimmy will give him much longer than that to make up his mind. Either he wants to play for us or he doesn't.

Yes. I would have thought JFH needs him to sign by June 22nd at the latest if he is to stay. I don't blame him for taking his time, but I do think JFH has been good for him to be honest.

I would suggest that with Mcgurk we haven't made a great offer as he isn't top of JFH's list of players he wants to keep
If JFH really wanted him he would have made an offer and sold him the club and he would be signing for sure
Mcgurk has probably been offered a deal that fits in with being a fringe player and hence his hesitation etc
He's more like a nice to have at the right price player than a need to have at a more expensive price
Hope that makes sense

I personally don't think JFH thinks of signing fringe players at all to be honest. He wants full position challenging players. If he didn't rate McGurk as a good potential first choice, he just wouldn't offer a contract at all. The only exception to this must be academy players forcing their way into the ranks.

On presentation Sunday I shook his hand and said "hope to see you here next season Adam" and he genuinely replied eye-yo-eye "thank you, I appreciate that". I hope he signs.

I know exactly what you mean about full position challenging players. I just think there are some who he wants more than others. Mcgurk signing for us will make sense at the right price for the club. And isn't a player to blow the budget on. I actually think he is a great potential player but needs to max out his ability. If he did he would earn more money of course!!

He must have an inkling that other clubs are thinking about him then. I wonder if we have offered a better deal than he was on, worse or the same?
I know we have got promoted but FFP is driving wages down so who knows.

I hope he signs too, he has real quality - League One quality. Yes he has had spells where he has lost form and IMHO I think occasions where he has lacked application. However, he has really knuckled down under JFH and he had a great end to the season. Difficult role to backfill if he leaves, attacker and attacking midfielder. Also wins his share of balls in the air from goal kicks etc. I suspect he may get a better offer. The grass may look greener elsewhere, but it is not always...
