Matchday prices also announced, £17 for what is likely to be League One football, that would have been the second cheapest behind Rochdale THIS season.

The club is doing all it can to attract supporters by offering real value for money deals. BAFC are also doing their best to reward loyal fans.

You can't really fault those prices and having renewed at last season's price, I am thinking "what a bargain!"
I have one slight criticism and it's purely selfish in a way, although there must be other parents suffering from this one?
My eldest turns 17 in July but will be in full time school education until he is almost 19, so I have been hit by a huge hike from £75 to £165 this year and next year it will be £225 I notice. With a second child 2 years behind, this is going to give me a further financial kicking in two years time.
Now like most people at the moment, my wages aren't going up at all, so all of this extra will have to come from saving it somewhere else, so wouldn't it be fairer to change the cut off point to 18 rather than 16, as most kids these days have to continue at school or college, unless they have a full time job to go to?
In general terms we can't knock the club pricing but perhaps it's time to review the price bandings, to account for the fact that from 16 to 18 mast kids are not earning and are therefore dependent on parental contribution.
I would be interested in others opinions, as I'm sure I'm not unique in this situation?
PS If anyone knows of any part time jobs for 14 to 18 year olds please let me know, as I have two willing(?) candidates!

I feel your pain johnno.
I used to have little sympathy for the following reason:
The kids prices at £5 a game are so low compared to other teams that any jump towards full adult prices was inevitably going to seem harsh. I used to suggest that during the very low prices you should really be saving for the jump.
However, I don't agree with myself anymore. I note from one of the recent away games (it may have been Luton) that there were several bands all increasing slightly up to age 22 (I think).
This would be a good idea, if only for season tickets - it would be difficult on match days, especially when having to offer the same to away fans too.
Overall though, I also agree with you that it is a fantastic deal.
I too have renewed my season ticket, I think for the same price for the last 5 years. Match prices work out at £11.09 for me next season. And if we get ourselves another FIVE [:-)] points, this will be League One football too!!! ;-)

Johnno
Just wonder if there is anything the kids can offer to volunteer to do on match day in return for free tickets
No idea but maybe programme selling or something?
Just an idea
I know mostly academy lads sell programmes

Two good replies there Funky and Observer...I'll certainly pursue the volunteer idea.
I see your point too Funky regarding the on the day prices...could get far too complicated on the day with too many bands/proof required etc. but I think Ben could look at the season ticket price for 16 to 18 year olds and even university students?
It makes a big difference overall to my expenditure having gone from £405 (1 adult and 2 kids) this season, to £495 next season (1 adult, 1 young person and 1 kid) to the following season at £788 (1 adult and 2 young persons).
My total expenditure will almost double in two years and as we all know, wages won't increase at that rate, regardless of what government gets in next month!

One of my girls is in the academy, I think that I am right in saying that the scholars are given the opportunity to do the programme selling and ground tidying after the match etc, I think they are also going to be waiting on staff for other occasions too. Might be an idea to give the club a call johnno, just to register interest, you never know.

£14.04 per game in the terraces www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/article/season-tickets-are-now-on-general-sale-2399970.aspxMatch day prices for the 2015/2016 season will be: Adults – from £20 (seats), £17 (terrace) OAPs from £18 (seats), £15 (terrace) Juniors from £10 (seats), £5 (terrace) Season ticket prices: Adults £380 (seats), £323 (terrace)OAPs £342 (seats), £285 (terrace) Young Persons £342 (seats), £225 (terrace) 16 and under £190 (seats) £75 (terrace) 12 and under £110 (seats) £50 (terrace) Well this is a tad annoying. If you buy a half season ticket now you pay £140 for 11 home games, or £12.72 per game in the terraces. Anyone who bought a full season ticket in the summer for the terraces paid £323, or £14.04 per game??? Thats not good business practice, it's follows the pattern of energy and phone customers rewarding new instead of existing, potentially loyal customers. At least charge the same price. === Chiefs at the Pirelli Stadium are offering half season tickets for home games, starting with the first on Saturday, January 2, against Blackpool. The deal will then include each game up until and including the final home fixture against Gillingham on Saturday, April 30, by which time the Brewers could be celebrating promotion. Prices for seats in the stands start at £165 for adults, £149 for over-65s, £149 for fans aged between 17 and 22 and just £83 for under-17s. For those wanting to watch the promotion race from the terraces, tickets can be picked up for £140 for adults, £124 for over-65s, £111 for young persons and £33 for under-17s. I take your point and agree with it mostly. It is not an exact science, but it does seems bit backward that the discount for a half season ticket is greater than for a whole season.
However, they did reward existing customers (i.e. existing season ticket holders) very generously by allowing them, myself included, to get a season ticket for the whole season at £11.09 per game.

£11.09 a game is good. I didn't get a season ticket as you effectively missing 1/5 games meant it wasn't worth it - and I would due to work.
The half season ticket tempts me much more however!

^^^ Was for me too @£11.09 v good value. Hope we get a similar incentive next season to buy early, be it at raised prices I'm sure. My fellow terrace attendees would buy season tickets no doubt but the night matches are difficult to get to for them, work gets in the way.

Great Business - I thought it was fantastic that the club rewarded season ticket holders from last season with the same deal for this season in L1...
Not Great Business - that they are offering half-season season tickets this year at a cheaper price per game than what full-season season ticket holders pay.
It's not rocket science, the fee should be 11 X £14.04, $155 would make more sense. In fact, since Jimmy has us TOTT and the footy has been good they perhaps should cash in a bit and charge 11 X £15, $165...That is still a £2 or £4 per game saving depending on how and where you pay for your ticket.
I'm not pi**ed off or anything, but some people might be. I just think that it makes sense to keep everyone happy by having a fair playing field. Marketing....

This was before they realised attendances would be poor even in league 1... And also, a full season ticket still works out cheaper if you consider the season as a whole (I.e buying tickets first half). And it'll encourage more to get one.

I think we and they knew full well that attendances wouldn't change much... (2.) Irrelevant point...you're assuming people have paid game prices for all, or most, games so far..... You've changed your tune? Quibbling over a couple of quid for one match. Tickets, for me, are too much for such an early stage of the competition. I went to Southampton vs Villa for £12 in the league cup last week... This is £15 advance/£19? On the door. I know there's a £10 minimum etc but hey. I'd go for £10. Suspect the attendance will be low. Read more: burtonbrewers.proboards.com/thread/2129/peterborough-home-thread#ixzz3qeMjCsK7

Not sure I've changed my tune, both posts clearly support lower prices.
I don't see an issue with it.
