My first shout was Beattie on the 27th, my 2nd was Hasselbaink when the news came in (scoot I think) that his name was in the hat. I will be happy with his appointment and excited as to what this brings to the club. He just ticks so many boxes, he's qualified, experienced, ambitious, has contacts in UK, Holland and Belgium, charismatic, a media magnet, knows the game from both sides of the touch line and last but not least he would be an appointment that recognises the equality in sport movement. BAFC will take another step on the media recognition ladder. And who knows the board may feel the pressure and loosen the purse strings in our push for promotion. nervous anticipation.... With just £100k profit in each of the last two years on a turnover of £2.5m and declining gate receipts, cup money and income from pre-season friendlies (if I've got those figures correct) I don't think there's much scope to loosen the purse strings.....

"But if we need to spend more money on the playing budget to keep us up there challenging for automatic promotion, that's what we will do." JJO't might even come on free if we guarantee some games. I'd give him a look, gotta be a better option than Knowles and Blyth. He scored 13 in 41 last season just hasn't cracked the cobblers lineup yet. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29988696

There is a fan engagement workshop tomorrow Would be good for the new manager to be introduced and part of that FA Youth Cup also at Pirelli tomorrow and clearly would be good for new manager to watch that as well In the fan engagement thing still happening now there is a match on? What match??? Fan Engagement Workshop is this Wednesday at 6.00-7.30. While the youth team play in the FA Youth Cup 2nd Round at home to Kidderminster at 7.45. If it is JFH then it maybe boom or bust, just my opinion of course, but I would be happier with a more proven manager in lower league football.

The Mirror are saying JFH is a done deal and is due to be announced.
Can we expect total football or the players falling out with each other every couple of weeks.

The other good thing about JFH is he is Black. Do we qualify for a football league grant for employing a black manager? (that's supposed to be a light hearted comment taking the micky out of football nowadays and not intended to cause any offence so please don't anybody take any. It's true to say that there is a lot of debate about lack of black managers in British football and it's good for us to be bucking the trend)

In my honest opinion I'm a bit worried about this appointment It's just as likely to be a disaster as a success I hope I am proved badly wrong

I have read on one site(sorry I can't remember which one) that to get the job he had to have an experienced assistant. It will be interesting to see who that will be !

Should the rumours be correct, I think it is appalling that anyone with inside knowledge would leak the news before it is officially announced. They should be ashamed of themselves. Gutter.

Maybe the 'leak' is on the JFH side?

Maybe the 'leak' is on the JFH side? Or sports journalists just doing their jobs?

Looking at Oldfields history on Google, if he is in the frame for any position I would go for first team coach, or our current temporary manager has got the job full time and Oldfields heading up the Academy. The second part of that sentence won't happen!
