Nigel Mason was interesting to hear who our previous manager could of got? now that would have made a very pretty penny!! always had full respect for Ben on how he has run the club so well

Nigel Mason and for those who wonder why we never leave anyone up on corners it's because we conceded a very large percentage of goals from corners so Gary wanted to address that even if it meant having to defend any balls coming back at us afterwards!

Sam Goldsworthy Pesch didn't want to sign Jamie Vardy and Ben regrets not putting his foot down and signing him. Also Gary said Pesch never did any coaching it was all Gary. Ben said it was a mistake making Pesch manager.

Reece Brown Well not a mistake as such but he wished he would've put Gary in charge instead

Martin John Sounded interesting. Wish I'd ave gone now. Was there any confidentiality agreements signed though ? Was it on the ticket? If not then I would assume a transcript could be made available to fans who didn't go? Also was the Mail there? Would hope they were & report on everything that was said???

Reece Brown Unfortunately they may struggle to report on everything that was said as there was simply too much said! Some very interesting points though and definitely worth going.

Martin John Re Billy, I know they say "never go back" & some Albion fans will probably slate me for this, but would (could) he come back on loan due to his sever lack of opportunity at Scunthorpe so far & was that question asked last night?

Nigel Mason he was not happy about being on the bench here so doubt it and from what Gary said, Billy was not second choice up front, the reason for selling him was that he was out of contract at the end of the season so would have gone for nothing, of course (this is my opinion not Gary's!) if he had stuck it out on the bench and got a chance through injury to others he might of got a regular starting place? I trust in Gary and although I liked Billy and would be happy if he came back from what was said it sounded like he did not fit in with what Gary wants regarding movement up front??

Ian Hawkins No Shaun sanders he didn't say that. He said that he sometimes thinks Gary should have been given his chance from the outset.

Jackie Smith It was a great evening of open honesty from our chairman and manager. BR did not say it was a mistake recruiting Pesch but what he said was he should have signed GR at the time. However GR at that time was not in the frame at all. It was Pesch and Darren Moore. When Moore didn't come, that's when GRs name came into the mix. They both seem great guys and I would hate for either of them to get misquoted and get any flack because of it

Ian McGibbon When I said stay in the room, sometimes, it is not what is said but the way it is interpreted. Sam for instance, interpreted that Ben said Pesch didn't want to sign Jamie Vardy. That is not what I took from it. I also interpreted what the manager said about Billy Kee in a slightly different way than Nigel. It is difficult sometimes to recreate the context of what was said in a soundbite on Facebook. Great evening though, very honest, some good questions and interesting answers. I asked which was their proudest single moment in their time at the club. Both had several, the chairman very proud of taking a team to Wembley, but he settled on the Man Utd game for all that it meant to the club coverage wise and financially. Gary settled on the 1 - 0 home win versus Gillingham in his spell as caretaker, the match that ended the long winless run.

Jackie Smith And you'll be pleased to know the food was great. Not at all like on match days. Of course one of the sponsors said his food was always great on match days cos he's in the posh bit. He should anchor his feet a bit more firmly on the ground and join us mere mortals down below. Let him join a looooooong queue to be told there's nothing left of what you want but loads of balti pies

Ian Hawkins Agreed Ian. My take was that Pesch wanted Vardy but was put off by the fee which would have been a significant one by our standards.

A mate sent me this as I don't get the pleasure of seeing some of the diaharrea on FB, but there are a few very good posts. - The great debate continued.....at least with FB you can avoid reading a lot of the nonsense by blocking a few members.
Ian McGibbon I doubt there is a better food selection in League Two than you get at the Pirelli...

Tim Miles I really wished the people that stand on the popside and constantly shout abuse and in general a load of rubbish at the players had of come along to the forum, it would of made them realise wot Gaz is trying to do with the team and listen to him saying wot good character we have in the team.

Think its about time all these negative fans take a long hard look at our wonderful club, where we stand in the table and either shut the ☆☆☆☆ up or stay at home... we have a brilliant reputation in league 2 as a club and don't need fans like that

Stuart Garner Since you put it like that !
Joking apart your dead right- the negativity at times is unreal- especially being TOP OF THE LEAGUE !!!!
how chuffin good does that feel !
At times i can ignore the negativity- would just wish the town would embrace its football club thats most definately on the up !!

Tim Miles Sometimes we all get frustrated if a certain player is having a bad game but you don't need to shout abuse at them it ain't goin to help them play any better they need support! Afterall we all want the same thing and that's a positive result. Trust Gaz and his staff. UTB

Adam Drew Quite hard to summarise 2 hours of questions. But I asked about why we dont attract overseas teams who train at St Georges to play a friendly. Ben said our capacity isn't big enough, as even with a sellout crowd we wouldn't afford the fee these teams want. It was revealed Kee left for £65k as said on an earlier post. And Rowett enthused about the difference the vocal support and drum has been this season at one point. An early question read out from the twitter ones about the lack of bt sport in the bar was answered by saying the £300 a month fee couldn't really be justified with it only watched on the odd match days. It would be a shame if the club don't stick any minutes up on the site to be fair

Shaun Sanders Ian Hawkins thanks ! It's a shame some people have said things and twisted it a little bit !!! Also it's a great shame that certain people want to keep the discussion from last night to themselves haha !! I found the comment " keep it in the room" pathetic and very childish ! I would of liked to have attended but I work nights . No need for big headed people to be all cocky about being there and others not

Jamie Goldsmith If I remember right - Rowett said driving upto Blackpool, it just didn't feel right.
Peschi wanted his team to be attacking & attractive to watch, Rowett thought as a League 2 side u have to compromise that a bit & they'd discuss/disagree a lot on that.
This made me laugh - Rowett said Cloughy was quite unconventional in his methods, he'd ring (when Clough was manager here) Rowett up asking what time he finished coaching on the Saturday, telling him to get over for our game if he could, as he'd be starting. "Won't the other players mind?!" Rowett said.
Another bit Rowett said was 1 of the hardest bits of the job is managing the players not in the side, keeping them all happy. - don't think is as big an issue this season thou!

Colston Crawford Daniel Whitehouse... yes, Ben was asked if he had a five year plan (by Dave Child I think). He immediately said no, he didn't. He said you could have five-year plans if you had huge investment with income guaranteed for five years or more, like Premier League clubs or some others that have loads of money behind them. The point he was making was that our plan evolves as we go along...(he didn't say the next bit but I'm guessing he means....) we don't know which division we'll be in, therefore how big a slice of the Football League sponsorship pot comes our way and how big the wage bill might potentially be.... that sort of thing.
Basically.... that Burton Albion's plan is a constantly evolving thing. I think that sounded like a fair and open answer, I hope others think the same.
