From the Burton Mail a couple of days ago written byDAVID BROOME
JOHN Brayford may leave Derby County this summer, although the future of team-mate Craig Bryson looks more promising.
Both players, who have impressed since joining the Rams, are out of contract next summer, and have attracted attention from other clubs.
There was much speculation that Brayford would join Premier League new boys Cardiff City in the January transfer window, although nothing materialised, while West Ham United are also rumoured to be interested.
Bryson has been a key figure in the past two seasons, and manager Nigel Clough says contract talks are close to being concluded.
However, the former Burton Albion boss admitted that Brayford’s head might be turned by a desire to test himself at the highest level.
Just wondering if anyone can remember if we get any cut of a sell on deal or if it goes all to Crewe. I seem to remember that it was clouded in mystery when Brayford went to Derby as he was transfered along with another player and the fee for him was lost in the ether...someone with a brain help!
It is taken as read but good luck to him. He is a sound chap as well as a talented footballer ...
