Out of interest can anybody else make out what's been said on the PA system? Maybe if the volume was turned down a touch there would be more clarity. Or is it just me COYB

It doesn't work at all in the Bovril End. All you can hear is 'muffle', probably from the main stand.
Apart from the fella next to me yesterday who kept saying "I can't hear it. I can't hear it...." Yeah, you won't while you're talking incessantly, you fool.

Definitely as PA man. He was good on Centre FM, the drawback being that you had to sit through some sh*t music while waiting for his reports. I always remember him reporting from Droylesden. The DJ hadn't gone over to him for most of the match. When Dave came on 15 mins into the second half he announced "At the Butchers Arms the score is, wait for it.. Droylesden Nil BURTON ALBION 7.

The speakers in the Bovril end are shot. You only hear the echo from other sides of the ground. No-one hears a word that chap says.

I don't know why a thread about the faulty PA hardware in the Bovril end should turn into a personal attack on Ian?!? As someone has already said it's not been working for some weeks. There was a problem last season too and it was fixed for a while. You can't hear what Ian's saying in the Bovril, as the sound is bouncing of the stands and reaching you from the other three sides of the ground.
Checking the sound system should be on the maintenance checklist of the Facilities Officer (if we have one?) Ian, who I think does an excellent job, is the last person in the stadium likely to know that there are some of us struggling to receive his dulcet tones in our shell-likes.
I guess that the proverbial "someone" needs to email the club and let them know - they can't fix what they don't know about can they? And the serious point of course is that from time to time, the PA brings us some useful if not vital information......but not if we can't hear it, it don't.....

Well I stand in the popside and didn't realise there was a problem at all, so basically what I am trying to say is, it works fine in the popside!

I think Ian does a splendid job, shame about the persisting with Tom Hark, the Gills fans were extracting the Michael at that. Imagine the Plymouth goal celebrations without Tom Hark...

Have to agree about Tom Hark, I think it spoils a goal celebration, let the fans celebrate in there own way!

If the PA isn't working in the Bovril end, send the club an email. Complaining on here is not much use, unless Ian or somebody reads it. Regarding PA announcements, I would like more music and less talk personally, but Ian is doing what he is asked to I presume.

Reported from the stand tonight…. the speakers are still not working…
My suggestion is that at the next match a fan brings along a megaphone and provides the odd bit of inane commentary so that the fans don't feel left out. It would be a good wheeze….

Working fine on the concourses and on the exterior of the ground, Dave Chiles was in his element. Unfortunately for Peacock his game experience was ruined by the lack of an audible "Come on You Brewers" #headsmustroll

It's not that they don't work. It is because the railway station have had them back.

It "seemed" like none of the speakers on the popside were working, at least none anywhere near the centeline. All we could hear was muffled sounds from the concourse. We didn't hear the announcement about the applause for Nobby, suddenly players on the pitch anf the referees were clapping so we joined in. Never heard the lineups or any subs etc.....
someone posted this lastnight on FB "Heard a steward say the north stand tannoy is being fixed tomorrow"
